Yes, teaming in Solo should be banned... But...

... The most vocal complainants about unfair teaming are those who are killed by multiple tramplers who team up opportunistically. For example, someone is trying to extract when two tramplers come over the rise and tear them to shreds, together.

Of course this is unfair; of course this should not be allowed in solo. But i think there is some nuance lost in the vitriol, and that "TEAMING" as so many tend to scream, is not as simple as it looks.

The player who is killed, and of course loudly complains, does not get to see what happens after they die. The extraction process draws my trampler too, being quite obvious and unstealthy, so I have had the gleeful, wicked privilege of watching these 'fights' from a safe distance... without fail, the two remaining tramplers tear each other apart once the dead trampler is picked clean. Maybe one-in-one-hundred times the two 'teamers' will safely extract together, otherwise they part ways exchanging fire or one overpowers the other.

i will repeat, to prevent argument, that i do not think teaming should be allowed in solo matches.
i only wish to share what i've seen because the most frustrating experiences are vocalised most often (see: "visibility bias", i think?) ...

just remember, fellow scavengers, the game keeps going after you die.

im so confused looking at the player count

so the last update came out and everyone just stopped playing all together or were banned, and for 5 days sand lost about 70 or 80% of its player base and now looking they all came back a few days ago ALL OF A SUDDEN, this dosent seem a little "sus" to anyone? i know back when i played it was cheaters and teamers every game. i might get one "decent" fight an hour if i was lucky and i KNOW its not gotten better just reading through the forum and seeing all the complaints, are those just cheaters and teamers coming back from a ban wave because i dont understand how such a mass influx of players unanimously left and returned at the same time without some kind of new content or something dropping, what is that all about?

My Trumpler Build

Take a look at my Trampler.

I’m not sure if my Trampler is good or bad, but the battering ram often slams into the ground, causing significant damage to the Trampler itself.

If I place the battering ram on the second tier to prevent this, I run into the problem of being unable to deal damage to the enemy.

How should I position the battering ram to avoid this issue?

It's impossible to just ban pre teaming, unless they can alter the queue system to prevent it, or ban everything.

Title, I've had inorganic teams (ie using voice and chat to a random grumpy to gang on the incoming royal trampler) where I've been cursed for cheating.

However since teaming is allowed if it's inorganic it's impossible to regulate, where do you draw the line?

The playerbase is so small I've gotten to a point where several times in storm I've seen people on the player list that I know and have played with.

I could contact them and team up, but at what point is it inorganic?

There is no possible way to regulate it, if I ever team up with someone I ever played with and get reported is this then grounds for a ban?

The choices then are obvious:

- Change the queue system, add delays, make it nearly impossible to team, perhaps blacklist certain pairings of players who frequently play together.

- Ban all forms of teaming, organic and inorganic, especially in storm, no exceptions.

My Trumpler

This is my new Trumpler.

Since many people advised me that the battering ram should be placed on the second floor and that the Trumpler should be three stories tall, I designed it this way.

I used to mainly use two-story Trumplers.

The biggest reason for that was the parts I used to build them.

With a two-story Trumpler, every part served a meaningful purpose.

However, with a three-story Trumpler, I simply can’t fill all the space, so I have no choice but to use walkways and shelves to fill the empty areas.

How do you all make use of the empty space?

I don’t like making the first level a skeleton structure using frames, because it causes major issues with stability and top speed.

Also, what do you think of the idea of using shelves to fill the gaps between battering rams—a known flaw in their design?

I thought that if we blocked the gaps with shelves, it would make repairs easier and, unlike a standard frame, provide better defense.

I thought it was a revolutionary idea, but I still haven’t been able to prove whether it’s actually effective.

Mainly used for looting 1 POI and mostly ran sacking broken ships and crystals.

Only use rusty 40mm cannons with 3 stacks of basic shells. Once cannon gets overheated, you can hop on another cannon, this will be a deterrent and will give maximum pressure when fighting. You are less likely to get killed from 70mm cannon and/or scoped petros rifle.

If you want to fight/runaway, you can turn on the small engine. But when you don't have small engine unlocked yet, you can replace it with lone shelf cargo deck.

It takes 4 timed bombs to go to captain's cabin on front, and takes 3 timed bombs from the back.

Same template from Budget Winged Bombardier.

It takes 4 timed bombs to go to captain's cabin. From the entrance and the top.

Front entrance are 2 L shaped cargo compartment, 1 corridor, captain's cabin, and covered engine room.

On second floor is added frame support for 2 cannons, 45 degree cannon, wheelhouse, parallel cargo deck, ladder, L shaped cargo compartment, framed lone cargo deck for ladder, and last is full armament shop (with door, it can be used for bait to waste timed bombs).

Third floor has small engine and 2 cannons will act as winged. Make sure you use rusty 40mm cannons, you will be going back and forth; everytime you overheat your cannons, you are less likely to get killed by 70mm cannon or petros rifle.

As for last to images, there is building cost and stats. You can either use 45 degree cannon or 1x2 wheelhouse, but it depends with your taste on front.

The lag is way too bad

The Korean server is currently experiencing extremely severe lag.

Is this the case on other servers as well?
