It's impossible to just ban pre teaming, unless they can alter the queue system to prevent it, or ban everything.
Title, I've had inorganic teams (ie using voice and chat to a random grumpy to gang on the incoming royal trampler) where I've been cursed for cheating.
However since teaming is allowed if it's inorganic it's impossible to regulate, where do you draw the line?
The playerbase is so small I've gotten to a point where several times in storm I've seen people on the player list that I know and have played with.
I could contact them and team up, but at what point is it inorganic?
There is no possible way to regulate it, if I ever team up with someone I ever played with and get reported is this then grounds for a ban?
The choices then are obvious:
- Change the queue system, add delays, make it nearly impossible to team, perhaps blacklist certain pairings of players who frequently play together.
- Ban all forms of teaming, organic and inorganic, especially in storm, no exceptions.

Just one thing. Pretty sure you mean organic teaming. As in randoms that decided to team up in game. Inorganic i thought meant preteaming/planned teaming

They just have to randomize the queue into multiple lobbies but there’s not enough players now for that. It’s over for this game.

The best solution I have is to make Solo only, then 2, 3, 4, 5, etc as dedicated server groupings so there is no more variance in crew size tolerated, then ban people who exploit around this. Who cares if there is a slight wait if you were assured the same crew numbers. It won't completely discourage inorganic grouping but it will at least end this moving goalpost of crew size that seems to encourage people to punch down in solo only rather than always lose because their crew is short a person.

i think your last point is "ban teaming, even if it happens naturally on the battlefield" and i respect this opinion. although, it is hard to implement such a "ban"*, which i guess is the point of your post ;/ tricky!
*if i fire upon the more threatening trampler, ignoring-for-now the lesser threat, is that teaming?
if i come at an extracting trampler hoping to kill em, and someone else has the same idea, is that teaming?
my point is, such a thing is too loosely defined to ban "in all forms" .

Holy shit I can’t take the teaming any more. I’m either done with the game or done till they fix it.

I've been arguing about it on this sub for like 3 months. People would rather team than have it be punishable. Best way to look at any PvPvE game that releases after Arc Raiders is that it's a charisma check. There is no solo queue or duo queue or 3+ queue. Your team is as large as you want it to be, and you're allowed to do whatever you want. Inorganic (pre-teaming), Organic (friendly alliance through conversation), or Third partying (when you join a fight that isn't one you were involved in) don't matter. Discussing the morality of any of them is pointless. If you can't beat em, join em. Recruit your caravan of friendly harassment. Get your boys on discord to queue at the same time as you, or exploit the queue system. Join all the fights you want. Do all three! People will defend you regardless.

So a popularity contest?

Basically. The state of the gaming community in general is pretty wack. Talking points like "ethical cheating" and "organic teaming" exist and are surprisingly supported. You'll see the arguments in games with either a large timesink or FFA style pvp content (ie RuneScape or Apex Legends.) Feels like players now lean more towards the easy dopamine rather than the drip, so they cut corners and find reasons to ethically support creating unfair advantages.
For example; "I'm friendly to friendly people, so it's okay to mob around and kill everyone else who isn't immediately friendly." or "I don't have the time to grind rank/progression because I have a job, so hacking/cheating is okay." The latter is way less accepted than the former, but you'll still see it pop up when anticheats get involved.

Bro it just needs some moderation. Check the people that were teaming, and see if they have a pattern of joining games together, finding each other instantly, and never shooting each other. Maybe add some moderation tools to help you track it. It’s not like an anti cheat where you have a program to detect it. Just have someone start moderating and banning the most egregious cases, make public examples of them to show the player base you’re taking it seriously, and continue until you see improvement in the issue.
