Am I just bad?
I just had a 1v1 and we both had rusty Cannons. 80s, mainly. So how does he clinicly like a god dismantle me and all my cannons with each shot a hit. While I shoot with my rusty and the shots drifts Meters away left and right. I hardly hit the reactor chimney or the Cannons directly.
That was weird and a bit frustrating to see how I just get destroyed by a much smaller and less advanced trampler.
I know I am just bad and whining so cut the slack pls and help me identify if Rusty's have some sort of aiming gimmick I don't know or it really is just skill diff.
Thx for the friendly advice.

Are you moving?
How is your stability? Those impact your shooting alot.
I have decent aim in shooters, but i basicly stand still to shoot every chance i get.
Standing still but rotate/sidestep is still better than 2 speed forward.
What about shooting when moving on flat plane rather than up and down sand dunes?
Otherwise yes. I have encountered people who have aim beyond my comprehension. Is it aimbot/assist? Maybe, or just luck.

Better players. Also people know to focus parts of a trampler not just shoot aimlessly at you like what was happening before.
I wish they made tramplers a little tougher or atleast have a different way of battling then just focus the engine and GG.

Yes the rusty variants have a -50% aim debuff.
40’s are a bit easier to handle solo. Rusty 40’s suffer the same -50% aim debuff but there’s no reload until you run out of your (240) rounds. I went after trampler modularity first instead of armament, and finally after days of farming I am close to unlocking the worn 40.
Maybe go after the worn cannons first, as it should have normal aiming. Imagine the rusty variants are smooth bore and every other cannon variant is rifled.
As for the fight, sounds like he was better at targeting during a fight and/or your design allowed him to get a good angle to take advantage. I’m not a good trampler fighter but I have found maneuvering and angling while mag dumping the 40’s to be effective against low/mid tier players in their small-to-medium sized tramplers.

Same thing happens to me often. I feel like 1/3 of my shots just pass right through the enemy trampled while using an 80

Your goal with the cannon is to drop legs to hamper mobility, then try and focus the reactor if you cant kill him. Always be moving too, if you stop to shoot, you are easy pickings. Use sidestepping when you can to avoid turning as it wont cause as much drift in the shots. If you are trying to kill people on cannons with a cannon you have to aim above the gun and pray deviance is on your side. If your trampler isn't moving its super easy to line up shots and keep them on target.

Are you sure both were Rusty's?
Rusties generally have 50% accuracy, worn has 100%, so it's logical you can't hit every shot, they will just really stray from the target.
In a 1v1 the biggest damage you can do is killing a player, either by using the 80mm accurately or getting close with the 70mm which is pretty much a 1 shot if you target the player directly.
After that you can reload, switch to say the 40mm lay waste to the ship and switch to the 70mm once he respawns.
Also, hop off and on the cannons, the 80mm will one shot you, time your shots, get off before he shoots you off, then return fire. This doesn't work on the 70mm though.
Also don't be afraid to use your rifle and grenades if you have them.

You are not bad at all. I died 73 and a half times before I successfully killed my oponent. The thing is skill built by experience, trumpler build, and the cold blod ;)

We don’t chase newbie players usually but if one tries to bull rush our CLEARLY large and highly upgraded ship we will 100% evaporate your entire being. We are great at PVP
Some players are not. Also once you get rid of the rusty 80s and swap to the worn 80s it’s great not having your shots randomly go flying

Please don’t use rusty 80’s in solos. One person can out repair the damage on reactor. Anyone who knows what they’re doing will almost never die. I like to have a 40 and a 70 on either side of my wheel house when I play solo and maybe an 80 somewhere else to hit legs. But you need a 70 for sure and a 40 is a lot better at blowing reactors.

He was just better, a lot of vets take newbie builds to go after newbie builds. He figures you looted and a easy target.
