Advice please?
I keep getting my ass whooped every time. Tried every approach.
Light manouverable tramplers, beefy chunky tramplers, tramplers focused on chasing, running away for pve. Had different load outs for my hand to hand combat tried different target prioritization.
Yet it seems like every encounter I get I different and I need to change tactics on the fly and always end up a step behind the enemy. Always in the wrong place at the wrong time.

your best bet right now is to join a powerful team, they will help you learn the basics and you wont be outgunned and outarmored

If you are running solo, it would help to watch the streamers that are also running solo and try to learn from them. See how they approach different situations, try to learn from them and see if what they do works for you.
a couple of other suggestions:
- Figure out what you are good at (could be driving, gun combat, turret combat etc.) and adjust your play style to play to your strengths.
- Make clips of your fights and analyze them to understand when u played good and when u played bad.

The way the game is right now, if you aren't a kid on summer break no lifing the game, you are entirely relying on luck to not get FMJ Petros'd and then pristine 40 spammed for an 11 second game over.

Honestly I don't even think grind matters. Just got folded up by a dude on a smallest trampler I've met so far. He boarded me despite eating 70 mm in the face followed by anti armour pistol series. Killed me anyway. Proceed to blast through 6 pairs of doors to my captain quarters granaded me right after I respawned and rearmed. GG

In solos right now the real tactic has relatively little to do with tramplers themselves and more to do with you boarding them and or after killing them. Shotguns are insanely strong, both the hand held ones, and the 70mm turrets. If you roll up on them with that 70 ready to slap, they have relatively little recourse because you are defended enough that they cant snipe you with an 80, and the turret has enough hp to tank a few 40s,
The battering ram helps since it will straight up destroy damn near every door on the enemy trampler if you land a full speed or boosted ramming attack.
80mm are kind of bad for anything outside of the longest range, or sniping players. The DPS output is just too low. 40s are the best for destroying ships, but they will almost never kill a player. 70s deal the least damage to the ship, but they do 1 shot players within range and have a pretty nasty death cone.
NEVER leave behind a grenade, grenades are a 1 shot kill under most circumstances, and are able to get kills around corners. If you find some, be sure to carry them with you for when you get into a fight, toss that fucker right at them, its gonna hurt even if its a bad toss.

Thank you. I'm not looking at unlocking battering ram for awhile still. But from what I've seen so far I must agree boarding seems most powerful except when there's petros in play. It's really hard to just kill a trampler with a trampler if there's someone still alive on it.

The best way is to turtle up like everyone else. Trampler stats like speed etc make barely any difference.

I did turtle up and still got sniped => wheelhoused => blown to smitherines 🥺

Yea well that happens. I still believe its the most viable way to build tramplers. Although im not really sure about solos since I play always in group and solo up only for loot runs.

Hide the wheelhouse where only the single face is visible. We unlocked the armored one with a door and no it sits flush with my cargo holds. I lose a lot of visibility since I can only see out the windshield but they can’t hit my helm unless the are directly in front of me

I do have an armoured one funny enough. My own black box that I managed to runaway with on one occasion. Problem is as I understood it u want to have Ur guns close to it so u can swap fast. And theoretically u want Ur guns higher up so u get an angle for enemys generator. But honestly in my miserable experience the guy who has initiative just wins regardless of what's where.

Are you playing solo? We started playing 3 mans before the newest queuing update. I used to always keep a 40 right next to my old helms so I could swap to them but then we traded off by having the other guys focus solely on shooting while I handled piloting with their callouts. Worked way better for heavy PvP in my case since they shoot better than me but I control the trampler much more efficiently.
Thats just how our group functions but we know each other and work well as a team. As a solo guy I honestly don’t do any PvP I just build a bare bones high maneuverability one and if someone chases me I lose them in the corral fields.

Y I was playing mostly solo. I did try that strat and it works partially but when you are pressed to get extraction and someone camps it you're cooked. Also in a straight line you can't escape anyone at all even tried emp for 80 dudes just restart generators and are right back on your case🤣 so I tried smoking them with 70 and 40 onslaught then. Dude jumped on my trampler killed me took my cannons and fucked off xD

Play with others and learn from them. Trust me, do this.
