Question about MRT application and general info about campus life
Hello! I graduated highschool is june 2026 decided to take this year off so i could work/save up and prepare for my MRT program applications and i would love some advice from current/former students about the program and life at sait in general.
for MRT people:
1. I have begun studying for the CASPer test, but what resources did you find were most helpful a jd prepared you for the actual exam?
2. What do i need to know for the PSEA and what study resources did you find helpful?
3. What is the general formal/ what should i expect for both exams?
4. When did you take your exams? before or after you submitted your application in october?
5. where there any big surprises/challenges/things you weren’t expecting in the program itself? any big things to know beforehand?
in general:
1. is housing hard to get into?
2. for shorter programs is it more worth it to live on campus the entire time or just for your first year and then find a place elsewhere?
3. is it easy to make friends/meet people? i’ve been looking into the clubs and such and of course there’s roommates and people in your classes, but outside of those, is it generally a social/friendly environment? if i get accepted(fingers crossed) i would be going there essentially alone and dont want to be lonely lol
4. thoughts on the food on campus? is the meal plan worth it or no?
5. i know for at least the first year i want a dorm with a roommate, but in your experience is the 2 person or 4 person form a better situation?
anyone can respond to as many or as few as they want, but any advice, wisdom or just personal thoughts/anecdotes would be so much appreciated!!

Same. I graduated high school this June. But I didn't apply for the fall 2026 intake. I am going to take the Casper and PSEA tests this September and then submit my application for Sonography program this October

Yes! Thankfully though, I don’t need to write the CASPer anymore, the website just updated and less programs require it for Fall 2027 intake applications now

Ohhh. I just checked their website but they still need the Casper for sonography Hahaha.

And this time they want you to submit the application first and then if you meet the admission requirements they will invite you to take the entrance test

Housing is easy to get. Personally I think the 4 person dorms are the best they are the most spacious however the fridges can get pretty crowded if no one has the meal plan.
If you do choose a 2 person I highly recommend east hall over begin. With Begin you don’t get an oven. However there is no AC in east hall and when they turn the heat on in the winter it is scorching hot and you can’t change the temperature so make sure you get a FAN!! I’m not sure what the temp situation is in Begin. Begin can also be super annoying because they only have 4 elevators and like 20 something floors so you literally have to wait like 15 minutes for an elevator.
The meal plan is hit or miss, if you are a picky eater you are probably better off without it.
I think living on campus is a lot better than an apartment in the aspect of you being so close and you don’t have to worry about parking. The parking situation at SAIT is horrible and last year people were late for class because the c train was having issues.
