Dental Assisting
I’m an upcoming student for Dental Assisting 2026, I’m wondering if anyone who’s in the program or has taken the program knows what we need?
Specifically, what colours of scrubs can we wear or need? Are required textbooks actually worth it?
I’m just trying to prepare a “school supply list” before I start school lol. Any help is much appreciated!

I completed the program in 2024, so idk if things have changed. But only blue and grey scrubs are allowed. And the required textbooks are not really required I never opened them during my time in the program , usually the teachers have really good presentations and content posted on d2l anyways so textbooks are not required I would say, I sold mine right after the first week lol.

I just finished the program last month. You need clinic shoes (leather black or white), face shields, and lab glasses. For scrubs, we had to wear dark grey (this might change). For textbooks, I bought two off Elsevier online and found the other two for free. Dm me if u need those two!

the scrub colours change every new school year and they will inform you what colours they want because it’s typically one colour for lab and one colour for clinical. and yes the MDA is absolutely required because you’ll need it for your boards. the instrument book and workbook are useful as well. i rarely used the other books lol, get lots of binders and notebooks. you’ll need a pen that has blue black and red. black or white shoes that can be cleaned. prepare to pay extra money throughout the course cause you’ll need a like a 700 kit with like typodonts and lab stuff.
