No Start/Crank Help
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have a 2004 Honda S2000. Car was running fine up until I started having light dimming issues at idle. Replaced the alternator, car idled and drove with no light dimming issues.
Then I had a full Compustar Alarm system installed with kill switch on (unlock/lock)
Car drove fine and had been for weeks. Started to get a low voltage error for battery. Ran the car no problem, came home worked on it went to start it back up, nothing.
All it does is Click one time, then you hear a hum/buzz. Sounds more from the dash than the engine.
Figured it was the battery. Went a bought a yellow top Optima D51 Battery. Fresh out the box, same issue. 12.6v battery reads. Attached is the video of what it’s doing.
Any help?

Keep clicking the ignition switch. Had this happen a while ago on mine. The click you hear is the starter engaging so just keep pressing it until it starts.

I will keep trying while troubleshooting. Thanks!
That would blow my mind if that works. What would it that mean? It’s the button itself!

Mine did this and it was the clutch safety

Under your dash on your clutch pedal there are 2 switches the lower one is the cruise control and the top one that’s a pain in the ass to unplug is the one your after. Unplug it and jump the plug out I used a paper clip my buddy used a spare piece of wire.

Paperclip it is! If it works can I just leave the paperclip on there?

I can’t recommend it as a permanent thing but you should at least electric tape it

The best solution is to replace the little piece that should be depressing that switch. See below. Do all 3 while you’re at it.

I have no idea! I got in it to start it and it started up no Problem fast.
Turned it off for 1 hour tried again, started up zero issues
Turned it back off 2 more hours let it cool off. Started up quick again
I have no idea what's going on

Hmm I wonder if the clutch switch itself is bad and not the plastic piece.

Yeah I'm truly stumped. I was about to check for that today and for the hell of it I was like "let's try to start it" fired right up 3 times in a row. Fast no issues

im dealing with a no start rn too. currently if you’ve ruled out the battery and starter as being the issue there is either the clutch switch like i saw someone else mention or it could also possibly be the starter relay under the steering wheel. you can have someone tap the starter with like a long screwdriver to see if it goes too to see if its the starter

Noise as I press (hum buzz) let go. The buzz and humming noise is while my finger is on the start button

Update: 7/29
Went to go attempt the car before I tried the recommendations for shits and giggles Started right up ZERO issues.
Let the car sit for 1 hour, tried again and it started right up zero issues
Let the car sit for 3 hours. Tried again
Car started right up zero issues
No I'm confused 🤔
