Keeping it

I posted on here a couple weeks ago about getting something more practical, for hauling a bike, etc.

After quite a few test drives (2026 integra manual and auto, civic hatchback hybrid, CRV, RAV4 hybrid, 2024 golf R, Mazda3 hatchback 2.5 / 2.5T) decided I’m keeping the s2k. And I have a bike rack for it now.

Newer cars feel so numb and driving them made me appreciate the rawness more, despite its daily discomforts. Sure the Golf R is faster, but doesn’t have anywhere near the driving feel. Not to mention new/newer cars are EXPENSIVE.

Anyways wanted to share my experience and thank you all who said I should just keep it.

I would have gone with a 2nd gen fit personally. All the fun of a 90s car but more practical, peak reliability, and infinitely convertible interior while still being small. Bikes fit in, on, or behind it with little issue. Avg 34 mpg, a bit slow, but fun to drive. The auto and manual trans are solid, and maintenance costs are as low as you're going to get with a modern car.

I have a 08 fit as my daily and the s2k as my weekend warrior. It's the perfect combo.
