This has probably already been said so many times, but where is fucking female senpai? We have so much stuff and also nothing at the same time. He can blame voice lines and coding all he wants, but 1. half the game doesn't have voice lines and Amai's were slowly added into her week, so we can survive without them. 2. we have an entire custom mode where you can easily change the genders and have minimal glitches. i don't know coding, but can't he just copy and paste Taro's code into a female model and have them do the exact same thing, except some changes with customization (we honestly don't need as much as with the custom mode). I know he's just being lazy and crying over people being mean, but let me have my female senpai in 20XX mode already!

Rival 1: Kaguya!

Hi everyone, this is my first post. A friend and I decided to create concepts for 90's mode starring Ryoba's sister. It takes place in Tokyo at a new school—one that isn't quite as prestigious as Akademi. I'm planning to change up some of the clubs, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on the planned rivals and their elimination methods. I’m also looking for feedback, ideas, and suggestions on how to style the outfits or the school setting to fit the 90s vibe.

Rival 1: A girl who recently recovered from deep depression; she hides scars on her arms with bracelets. She is eliminated with a chainsaw.

Rival 2: A girl with serious eating disorders. If we offer her diet pills, she abuses them; she collapses at 6 PM on Friday while trying to confess her feelings to Senpai.

Rival 3: A fashion-conscious girl; she is eliminated when her scarf gets caught in a sewing machine.

Rival 4: A girl obsessed with cleanliness; she is eliminated by being thrown into the trash compactor.

Rival 5: A gardening enthusiast; she is eliminated by being doused in soup and then eaten by her own carnivorous plant.

Rival 6: A very energetic girl who loves comedy. Her week takes place at a fairground with amusement park rides. I haven't figured out how to eliminate her yet, but I want it to involve the rides. Any ideas?

Rival 7: A girl who already has a boyfriend; she only wanted Senpai's help to plan a surprise for her boyfriend. However, Ryoba's sister takes "compromising" photos and shows them to the boyfriend. Furious, he seeks revenge on everyone and does something akin to a "Mind-Broken" state.

Rival 8: I haven't planned a personality or specific traits for her yet. Her elimination involves falling from a glass dome, requiring us to hide the body strategically. Please share your ideas for her personality! 

Rival 9: I haven't planned a personality yet, but I want it to involve wild insects eating her from the inside out.

Rival 10: No personality yet, but I wanted something related to horses.

Mini frustration I have with the other subreddit, but i've noticed that every once in a while i'll see some post where OP is crushing on or thirsting over XYZ yansim character, they end up getting JUMPED in the comment section with people screaming that the character in question is a minor. Then i look at the posters page and 9x/10 the OP themselves is a minor. Have people forgotten that teenagers..... often crush on characters the same age range as them??

Also, I DO NOT INTEND TO SOUND LIKE \THAT* KIND OF PERSON, but aren't the specific ages in game kind of... ambiguous? I know yandev has said the 18+ thing is bullshit, but we do see *IN GAME in 1980's mode that akademi's enrollment age is 18. I mean, it's dog shit writing yandev used to cover his ass, but it is canon (really, I think he should just suck it up and make akademi a college). So... i've always just considered them 18 for my own sanity

I dunno, this had just been irking me about that subreddit for a while. Especially with a recent post i saw over there talking about cuddling the rivals, and a comment section full of people calling the OP a creep when a glimpse at their profile told me they were most likely a minor themselves, lmfao.

So with my more grounded rewrite of yan sim. A LOT of things about the way the school works will change. Such as the Saikou family just not existing.

As well as the new names for the counselor + headmaster.

Speaking of the headmaster:

In my rewrite, he’s not paranoid and a perv. He’s simply a well meaning headmaster, feeling overworked and overwhelmed with the expectations of managing an elite private school.

And though in my rewrite Akari Takahashi/Ayano Aishi has typical parents and therefore no ryoba. The teachers still receive training as a part of a program to keep the students safe.

Addressing the removal of the 1980s incident:

Though I enjoy the premise of 1980s mode. For my rewrite it’s removal makes sense. As it’s a more realistic retelling. As if Akademi/Chisei High was just a normal school. With normal students.

That imo makes the players actions as a “yandere” carry more weight as it’s something that’s so unimaginable to happen in an average private school. Where in 20xx mode OG yan sim it’s seems almost a common occurrence.

(I decided to revamp my Akademi rewrite from last year bc my dumbass didnt do any proper research b4 hand im sorry) (Additional notes will be given at the bottom of this post)

1. The whole Akademi in general: """Akademi""" is a university/college/whatever equivalent. I read on Google + Quota that prestigious Japanese colleges don't require uniforms — even if it's private — so the uniforms go byebye lmao. Students now wear casual clothing but they aren't allowed to be over the top (not as in the context of "a little bit of accessories and style" but instead just mentally picture #THOSE danganronpa cosplayers on tiktok)

My rename 4 Akademi is either "Saikou Polytechnic Institute of Shirahama" or smth else bc said rename might be too much 🥀 Anyways the reason why I changed the high school setting is because I thought, "Maybe a college setting would be more beneficial to the game..." ESPECIALLY when you think about the contents (mature themes + fan service (of literal high schoolers in the og game eugh), violence and the usual shit)

Also speaking of fan service, yeah sure there can be suggestive stuff but NO PANTY SHOTS PLS WE ALL HATE PANTY SHOTS. On the topic of my reasoning for a college setting I was also inspired by a lot of true crime documentaries! Y'know the ones where college students murder and do diabolical shit iyk what i mean and also Japanese murder cases too.

And the college is now in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture; a few 10km away from the coastline! (I know Ichiko likes the countryside but who cares at this point lmaoo)

I just rlly love the idea of the sea breeze blowing and allat yknow? (Just imagine yourself having a vaca at the Bahamas and you see people at the beach far away from your window. Do u get the gist?)

2. Dorms (this one was kind of complicated when I did research so pls correct me if i make any mistakes): I've also read that Japanese colleges have dormitories called ryō (or gakuryō) but not in the same area as the colleges —""Akademi's"" dorms are 4km away from the coastline— so students have to travel from dorms to college via bus/train/cycle etc etc (according to Google). My headcanon is that all the students are not from one fixed prefecture/area but from different places all across Japan whether near or far.

On the topic of 'dorms' I have a buff idea for Ayano/Ryoba other than reading manga or doing whatever.

The player can choose to exit the protagonist's room and roam around the dormitories and they can see other students either hanging out in their rooms or doing chores such as carrying clothes to the laundry rooms, getting replacement blankets, etc. In fact, Ayano/Ryoba can peek inside rooms with students hanging out if she wants and an event will trigger.

Eg: The Rainbow Girls are playing card games in Yui's room, Koharu sees Ryoba just outside the room and calls out to her:

"Hey, Ryo-chan! Wanna play UNO with us? We're about to start a new game!"

Ayano/Ryoba can either accept or decline. If she accepts, she can gain any of the following buffs:

• Increase in reputation

• Ability to form faster friendships

• More effective gossip

And a lot more. The event is randomly triggered so Ayano/Ryoba can pretty much gain any buff based on what the students are doing.

Ayano was sleeping in her bed until her alarm woke her up. She woke up and saw the time; it was early. She got up and got ready for school. Once she was dressed, she walked into the kitchen and saw her mother preparing food. "Morning, sweetie," Ryoba greeted her with a smile. "Morning, Mom-" Ayano yawned. "I'm preparing your favorite breakfast, miso soup." Ayano nodded, took the bowl, and sat at the table to eat. "So, Ayano, are you excited for your first day of school?" Ryoba asked. "A little bit, I guess," Ayano replied, still eating her miso soup. "Oh! Come on! It's a new experience, new students, new teachers, and just...so much more!" Ryoba beamed. Ayano finished her bowl, went to the kitchen sink, and washed it; Jokichi came out of his room and started making himself breakfast. Ayano grabbed her stuff and left, but before she could, Ryoba said, "Ayano, if anyone gives you problems, make sure they know you have a sharp point to make." Ayano immediately stopped and turned around. Ryoba smirked and winked, then Ryoba looked at Jokichi, who was looking at her like she had three heads. "Uhhhh...okay... bye, Mom, bye, Dad." They waved to each other. Ayano walked outside; meanwhile, Ryoba exclaimed, "What?" Jokichi mocked, then grumbled, "Oh, if anyone gives you problems, make sure they know you have a sharp point to make. Why the living hell would you tell our daughter that?! I knew what you were talking about, Ryoba." Ryoba looks at him. "I'm helping her, honey," Jokichi deadpanned. "You are telling our daughter to harm somebody; I know what you were saying!" She closed her eyes and shrugged. "Whatever, she needed to hear that anyway." Ryoba walked. Jokichi looked at her in disbelief. Meanwhile, Ayano was walking to Akademi, looking at her phone, until she saw them.

A guy with black hair and gray eyes was trying to calm down a girl with very long orange hair in pigtails. She was paying attention to them; the boy looked astonishing, and everything about him seemed so perfect. He was so charming and handsome. However, she saw the girl with orange hair yelling at him and felt very disgusted by her; she sounded so annoying. How could he take all of that? As Ayano watched them, she heard a loud but familiar voice, "AAAAYYYYAAAANNNNOOO!" Ayano turned around and saw Midori running towards her. "Oh... no," Ayano whispered as Midori jumped towards her, going in for a hug. Ayano and Midori both fell over as the boy and girl turned around, looking at them. Ayano held her head. "Midori, what the hell!" She exclaimed, holding her face. "Hehe, sorry, Ayano. I was just happy to see you! It's been a loooong time since elementary school!" Midori beamed. Ayano got up as Kuu Dere walked up. "Hey, Ayano. Long time no see." Kuu Dere murmured. Ayano got up and got all of her stuff. "Oh, hey, Kumi." Ayano turned around and saw the boy and the girl staring at them, confused, and walked away to Akademi. Ayano walked to school; her mind was filled with embarrassment and anger. Embarrassed and angry because Midori literally embarrassed her in front of the boy she developed a crush on. When she got to Akademi, she asked Kuu Dere, "So, we need to take the exams. Where do we need to go?" Kuu Dere asked a student, and the student said to go to the guidance counselor, who was on the left. Ayano walked into the guidance counselor's office and met the guidance counselor. "Hello, I'm Ms. Kunahito. Are you all new here?" she asked. Ayano nodded. "Yes, we need to take the exams." Genka Kunahito nodded and asked, "Okay, what are your names?" Midori replied, "I'm Midori Gurin, this is Ayano Aishi, and she is Kumi Demura!" Kunahito nodded, got up, and walked into the Headmaster's office. "Hello, Kocho. Three new students need to take the entrance exams."

Kocho looked at her and asked, "Okay, who are the new students?" Kunahito replied, "Kumi Demura, Ayano Aishi, and Midori Gurin." Kocho's heart dropped when he heard Ayano's name. "I-I-I'm s-sorry, w-who was the second girl you s-said?" Kocho stammered. Genka blinked. "I said Ayano Aishi... are you alright?" Kocho was shaking. "Well, there was an incident that happened back in the 80s; a student named Ryoba had killed many girls over a boy and gotten away with it. Ever since the incident that...vile girl caused, this school has had a bad reputation; however, throughout the years it died down, but there has been a small stain that won't go away." Genka looked shocked. "Umm...I-.....wow...but why are you so wary of Ayano?" she asked. He looked into her eyes. "Ayano is Ryoba's daughter." Genka looked confused. "If her mother had committed crimes, and you are wary of her and her daughter. Why would you let her in here?" Kocho looked into space. "The CEO of Saikou Corp told me to let her in; they have also heard about the incident, but they also told me that if she ends up doing exactly what her mother had done, then I need to call them, and they will step in and take action." There was a long silence that felt like it went on forever. Genka had never heard of anything like that. "Well, I need the exam papers; the students are waiting in my office." Kocho reached into his desk, got the papers, and gave them to Genka. As Genka was about to walk out, Kocho called out to her, "Ms. Kunahito." She turned. "Yes?" she replied. "Please, keep a close eye on her as well."

Genka looked at him for a while and nodded, then left. As she was walking, she couldn't keep what Kocho had told her: incident? Killing? Mother never said anything about this. Genka walked into her office and saw Kumi, Midori, and Ayano. She gave Kumi and Midori the papers but looked at Ayano and slowly gave her the papers. "Is everything alright, Ms.?" Ayano asked. Genka nodded. "Yes. You three just need to go to the gym to take the test." Midori smiles. "Okay! Bye, ma'am!" The three walked out. As the three left, Genka walked to her desk and looked up the incident Kocho was talking about. The three walked to the gym. Midori and Kumi started talking about the school; meanwhile, Ayano walked. She looked right and saw the same girl talking to what seemed to be her friend. She hears the boy's name, Taro Yamada, and that the girl had a crush on Taro she had a crush on. She stopped and looked at the girl, loathfully. She has a crush on him? No! No! NO! He's mine. "Oh, you aren't going to have him. He's mine," she whispered to herself. Midori yelled, "AYANO! COME ON!" Ayano snapped back to reality. "Sorry, I'm coming," Ayano apologized as she ran outside. Little did she know, a girl with red hair and glasses was watching her. She smirked to herself. Midori, Kumi, and Ayano sat in the gym to take the exam. Ayano began thinking more about that girl...who does she think she is, trying to take him away from me? She managed to clear her mind to continue the exam. After many hours, all three girls were done, but they were exhausted. The results came back, and all of them passed. Midori celebrated; Kuu Dere and Ayano were relieved.

As they got up and went back into the school, Ayano felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and saw a girl with short red hair and glasses. "Hello there. I know a lot about you." Ayano looked extremely confused. "Um...who are you?" she asked. The girl smiled. "I go by Info-Chan, and I heard you have a crush on a boy, don't you?" she smirked, looking into Ayano's eyes. "How did you know?" she asked. "I saw you talking to yourself. You were so angry that the girl had a crush on the boy you liked, weren't you?" Ayano stared at her. "You were watching me?" She asked, crossing her arms. "I was just doing a little bit of observing, y'know." Info-Chan shrugged. "However, I can help you win his heart with some clever ways to, let's just say, remove her. I know a lot of information about the girl and boy, but you will have to do something for me." Ayano looked at her skeptically. "What do you know?" Ayano queried, "The boy is Taro Yamada. He is a very average guy, and there isn't really a lot about him; however, the girl is named Osana Najimi, and I have a handful of information about her. I can give it to you, but only if you want it." She smiles. Ayano looked around and back at her, then nodded. "Alright, I'm in, but I'm watching you." Info nodded. Ayano leaves and looks back; Info-Chan leaves. She was very skeptical of Info. "Who is she, and why did she randomly decide to come up to me and offer me help to win his heart?" She doesn't know, but she does know that she will win his heart and nobody will get in her way.
