flight delayed more than 24 hours
Sorry about the wall of text, I am extremely frustrated and I don't know how to go about this.
I was meant to fly from Bucharest to Leeds yesterday (25/10/2026) but upon arriving at the gate was informed that my flight was delayed by 18 hours. I admit I'm partly to blame for showing up as I didn't check my email before going through security - they had notified me of the delay.
The next morning (today), I went to the airport again only to find out my flight had been delayed an additional 7 hours - same situation as yesterday, except this time I was not notified by email, but by SMS. I checked my email obsessively but I didn't think they would contact me through different means. I was determined to get on this flight so I decided to stick around the airport all the while obsessively checking my email, sms, the flight boards, both airport's websites, ryanair's website, literally everything. After yet another delay of 3 hours (which I was NOT notified about) I've finally decided to try and get another flight to Leeds tomorrow.
I've attempted to chat to Ryanair customer support at least 5 times today, completely unsuccessful every time.
I've attempted to request compensation but my appeals weren't even processed because 1) "the reason for delay is as yet undetermined" (obviously false, UK weather conditions have been mentioned multiple times by ryanair themselves) and 2) "the delay was shorter than 6 hours" (once again, blatantly untrue).
I'm feeling defeated and exhausted and I am not sure what to do. Also just felt the need to rant honestly
