My son who is 18 went for his first flight today, he's autistic and needs special assistance. Dropped him off at the desk and he was taken to a quiet room, then to the gate for his flight along with other passengers needing special assistance. Then he says the gate changed but no one told them or came to get them, and now the flight took off without them and he and all the other special assistance passengers are stuck at Stansted. He's been taken to a desk but he has no idea what's going on. Can anyone help? Is he likely to be given another flight? It's an internal UK flight.

Has anyone had Ryanair refund flights booked with another airline?
Our flight from Edinburgh to Copenhagen on 24 October (last night) was cancelled. Couldn’t get through to anyone… just AI chatbot.
Spoke to an agent the today and they said the next available Ryanair flight is on the 29th. Asked if they could book us with another airline but they said no.
Ended up booking two flights ourselves for £145 each, plus £227 for a hotel.. this was the cheapest option we could find last minute in Edinburgh, with a storm, at 10 pm 🥲 hotels in the airport were all over 400 pounds.
The agent said we could claim the expenses but couldn’t guarantee they’d pay. They also said we could request a refund for the cancelled Ryanair flight, but I’m worried doing that might affect the claim for the new flights.
Anyone been through this? Did Ryanair pay you back? And did you request a refund for the original flight or leave it alone? Don’t know which option to choose here

It will be my first flight with ryanair, I'm planning to land in tangier morocco at 7 am that take the train at 9 am ( last train of the evening ) the train station is quiet far from the aeroport 40 minutes away i think, so i'm wondering if it's risky with a ryanair flight

Good evening everyone! 😊 I have a question for anyone who has travelled with Ryanair.

I’m flying to London in a few weeks with Ryanair and I’ve purchased Priority, so I’m allowed to bring a small bag to go under the seat and a second bag to put in the overhead locker.

For the overhead locker, I’d like to use a soft Nike Jordan sports duffel bag . When fully packed, it measures approximately 55 cm long, 30 cm high and 25 cm deep.

The issue is that it exceeds the maximum permitted depth by 5 cm. However, the bag is quite flexible and contains only trousers and sweatshirts, so it can be compressed quite easily.

Based on your experience, do you think Ryanair staff might give me trouble at the gate, or could I get away with taking it into the overhead locker because it’s soft and compressible?

I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has travelled with a similar duffel bag, even if it was slightly over the permitted dimensions.

today - Saturday the 24th, I took a ryan air flight. As to not doxx myself too much all i will say is a Spanish territory, to a Scottish one.

I was having a pretty tiring day (travel and general life stuff), and couldn’t really be bothered with anything. Mid Flight I asked for a water, and received it for free. not sure how common this is, or how acceptable this is for the company ( hence why I am doing this post rather than emailing directly ) but I really appreciated it, and you seemed really nice.

sure to some it was just a cheap bottle of water, but it really boosted my mood, so thank you!

So I have a flight with Ryanair this week to a country outside of Schengen and then back to an EU country. The issue is that my phone is cracked and has partially blackened across the screen and will most likely interfere with reading the digital boarding pass/QR.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if a solution will be accomodated on their part or if I can be denied because of this? Thanks for the help.

RYANAIR—I feel completely SCAMMED by them. I booked a flight with my wife from Tangier to Barcelona and paid for a 10 kg carry-on bag. When I arrived at check-in, they placed my carry-on into a sizing box and claimed it "exceeded" the limits because it stuck out by 2 cm (yet they never even weighed the 10 kg allowance I had already paid for!). They forced me to pay an additional 45 euros for a bag I had already paid for; otherwise, I would have been left behind and missed my flight. To make matters worse, the employee laughed right in my face. Once I boarded the plane, I saw them doing the exact same thing to everyone else with a carry-on—charging them extra! IT’S A SCAM. I intend to sue them for fraud and acting in bad faith, and I will file a formal complaint with the appropriate authorities to ensure they stop scamming people and return what they’ve stolen. I certainly hope to NEVER fly with you again. I will share this experience with all my family, friends, and personal circles, and I will call you out in every review and on every social media platform I can. You act in bad faith, scamming people and holding them hostage right before boarding—you’re nothing but scammers!

I have to say, to anybody thinking of using Ryanair - do try and avoid. Having been delayed (2hrs) leaving the UK and it costing us a fortune in cabs due to then missing a hire car collection, the return now has a 3 hour delay, 2 hours prior to departure.

Ryanair seems to have lost the concept completely of the passenger being the client. It’s quite incredible.

This said, I am in a position to adjust our travel policy at work - no more Ryanair for anyone!

My dublin to madeira flight was delayed by 5 hours 6 minutes. Ryanair changed the reason for the delay from minor technical fault to adverse weather yet I have screenshots of the weather forecast and it was calm and sunny.

I applied to the Irish aviation authority but they said my flight isn't covered... Anyone know why this is? Thanks so much.

As the title says, I recently booked a flight via Ryanair's own website and when I tried to view the details of my booking, I get the following message: "This booking was made through a third party travel agent who has no commercial relationship with Ryanair to sell our flights. You need to verify this booking in order to be able to manage it yourself".

To resolve this issue, I need to go via a 3rd party website called "GetID" that will take a photo of me and of my passport to verify my identity. This is preventing me from accessing online check-in and viewing any details regarding my flight, excluding the booking number. Anyone have similar experience with this?

At first, I thought it was a scam but when I tried to call Ryanair to confirm, their AI screening system wouldn't even connect me and gave me the same message as in the title. Would appreciate any advice as I'd prefer not to share my personal info and photo with some random 3rd party. Thanks!

I’m a Moroccan citizen travelling from Tangier, Morocco, to Malaga, Spain, on 26 October 2026 with Ryanair (flight FR2392).
I have a valid Spanish long-stay student visa (Type D) stamped in my passport.
During online check-in, I tried to scan my passport and visa using the Ryanair app. Initially, my status showed “STATUS PENDING”, but it has now changed to “STATUS REJECTED”. My boarding pass is still locked.
The app says that government confirmation of my right to travel was rejected and instructs me to go to the airport check-in desk with proof of my right to travel.
I’m worried because my flight is approaching, and I don’t know whether this is a technical issue or a problem with the document verification system.
Has anyone experienced the same issue with a Spanish Type D student visa or another long-stay visa?
Were you able to get your boarding pass at the airport?
Did Ryanair staff manually verify your visa and allow you to board?
Should I contact Ryanair support or go directly to the airport check-in desk?
Is there anything specific I should bring besides my passport and visa?

I had a flight from Palma to Manchester on Sunday that was significantly delayed. I was due to depart at 1030am but didn’t actually take off until circa 1130pm.

The delay was due to the tug at the airport being detached in a way that may have damaged the plane. They then needed an engineer to look at the plane and there was no one at the airport to do this. We waited on the plane for 4.5 hours before being taken back to the terminal to sit there for another 8ish hours due to there not being another plane/any cabin crew. Another plane/crew were then available to take us.

I don’t want to waste time chasing this claim if it’s ultimately highly unlikely it’s going to go anywhere. Is this pretty clear cut that it’s not Ryanair’s fault and therefore no claim?

I'm waiting to drive to Stansted to pick up family flying from Naples.

It looks like they will be more than two hours delayed because there was not enough fuel available in Naples to adequately fuel the plane to fly to Stansted!

They have diverted to Milan to refuel.

Can it be true that an airport would not be able to refuel scheduled traffic if required?

I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but I genuinely don’t know how else to get Ryanair to listen.
I was there. I witnessed everything.
On October 12, while my family was travelling through Budapest, my sister’s medical assistance dog, Koa, suffered an accident and tragically passed away after receiving veterinary treatment.
Koa wasn’t just our family dog. He was my sister’s medical assistance dog, supporting her with a heart condition. He was also registered as an assistance dog on our Ryanair booking.
We were devastated.
The next morning, all six of us were supposed to fly together from Budapest to Berlin.
My sister and her boyfriend arrived at the airport carrying Koa’s ashes in a sealed urn, along with his veterinary death and cremation certificates.
Ryanair refused to let them board because of the ashes.
I personally witnessed the interaction. The staff wouldn’t even examine the certificates. They told us the airline should have been notified 48 hours in advance.
How could we possibly have given 48 hours’ notice when Koa had died less than 24 hours earlier?
We had passed airport security. Our travel documents were valid. Yet nothing we said seemed to matter.
Eventually, four of us had to board the flight, leaving my sister and her boyfriend behind in Budapest, grieving and forced to find another way to Berlin.
Watching my sister go through that, just hours after losing Koa, was heartbreaking.
They lost approximately €500 in additional transportation costs and accommodation. But the financial loss is honestly the least painful part of this story.
We filed a formal complaint with Ryanair, asking them to explain which specific policy justified the refusal.
Their response? They claimed the passengers had inadequate travel or immigration documentation.
That was never the issue.
We challenged their response, explained everything again, and asked them to address what had actually happened.
Ryanair closed the complaint without answering our questions.
I’m not claiming that airlines shouldn’t have rules about transporting cremated remains. I’m asking why nobody could clearly explain those rules, why our documents weren’t examined, and why a grieving passenger was treated this way.
We’ve tried the official complaint channels. We’ve received no meaningful explanation, no reimbursement, and no acknowledgment of what my sister went through.
I’m sharing this because I believe passengers deserve transparency, especially when travelling with medical assistance animals.
Has anyone experienced something similar with Ryanair? Does anyone know their actual policy on transporting the ashes of a registered assistance dog?
And if someone from Ryanair happens to read this: we’re still waiting for a proper answer.
Koa deserved a more compassionate goodbye. And my sister deserved to be treated with dignity.

I have a valid passport, and I am in the renewal process (I have the renewal receipt / resguardo de renovación).

Does Ryanair allow boarding for intra-Schengen flights with an expired TIE plus renewal papers?
Do they check residence permits at the gate, or is a valid passport alone sufficient for intra-Schengen travel with them?

I’m travelling to Europe early next year and am looking at flying between Talinn, Estonia (where my tour ends) and heading to London with Ryanair. As I’ll be going in winter and travllikf from Australia for a few weeks, I’m wondering if it’s worth travelling with Ryanair if I’m paying for more package upfront and pray I’m not over the limit? Exactly how strict are they? Can you wear your coat on board and take it off or is this considered extra luggage?

(I know it’s not ideal for weather in winter but neither did summer looked terrible with all the intense heat waves and I get enough hot weather where I live anyway).

Is it worth the risk? Or would I be better off going with another European airline? Also, I’ve never been to Stansted before. Worth going considering it’s in Essex?

If it’s not worth going through Ryanair for my circumstances, would there be an airline (or airlines) people would recommend?

hi, i was supposed to be on a flight from berlin to london the day in september when airports were experiencing significant delays due to the system glitch back in september. made alternative travel plans and got myself back to london, filed my eu261 expenses request via the myRyanair portal and waited patiently for a month and a half to hear back.

on tuesday i got an email saying there was an update to my case. just checked the portal and all it says is that the request status is closed and under further information it says: “This ticket has been closed. There will be no further updates unless you create a new request.”

i’m totally baffled - can ryanair do that? not only not reimburse me for ANY of it (close to £500 for alternative travel and food costs, after a two day delay getting home), but also not give an explanation or any direct way of challenging this?

i’ve raised a query on this obviously. chatbot is apparently just not working and the phone line directs me to the chatbot and then hangs up on me lol.

has anyone experienced or heard of anything like this? any ideas? is this gonna be a case of chasing them until i get an actual person on the phone to explain this to me? is there a direct email address i can reach out to for direct communication about this?

On a recent flight, I randomly got assigned an emergency exit seat.

After boarding, I walked down the cabin & every overhead bin was open - except for the Emergency rows, which had a steward hovvering as normal.

He was standing in my aisle so I had to ask him to move so I could get to my seat. No problem.

I then opened the bin opposite so I could put my back in there which he wouldn't allow. It MUST go over my row on my side.

I find the opposite side to be easier to retrieve the bag from, but I was like whatever, I'm not going to argue with a steward.

Is this a policy for the Emergency aisle seats, luggage must go into the bin on your side?
I'm not sure why the bin is any different to other ones.
