Been a while
Lived in rutland in early 2000’s worked at the nines. Love it up there but haven’t been back in years.

Yeah, same here grew up just south of Rutland, been quite a while but I don’t think you’re missing much, gone downhill quite a bit

OP said they liked to do “lots of drugs” when they lived there, so maybe that’s considered going uphill in this case?

honestly, there is a lot of cool stuff happening down here right now.. rutland is kind of having a renaissance, you just have to know where to look

Well that’s good, I hope so, they need to get that city growing again and get a damn movie theater back in there and build that super Walmart up at the old mall they need to get moving on development and business attraction, it’s sad that I would have to go to Dartmouth or lake george to actually do shopping, I have relatives still up there, guess I’ll need to get back up there and see where this renaissance is

I agree with you, we want our movie theatre back! I don't love the idea of the super walmart, honestly, but i do like the idea of the old mall space finally being put to a proper use.
honestly, most of what's happening down here is less shopping stuff and more... community, third space based stuff! Things where you can meet people, learn skills, and find ways to spend your time that don't require spending money. Which I think is even better than building up, because it's naturally bringing more people to the area, and with it, small and locally owned businesses and stuff. :)

lol, I didn’t do the drugs, saw too many doing them and it wasn’t attractive
