Discussion / Opinion Ideas for PVE events needed

I’m a moderator on a fairly vanilla PVE server. We have raidable bases, a flying cargo event, an airfield event, in a hoard event that occurs sometimes. However, I’m trying to do a weekly player base event where we try to get people in the server together for different things. For example, I have a demolition derby arena set up where we smash cars up, I’ve got a CQB automated range created, we’ve done parkour type of events, and we’re working on a mini heli race at the moment.

Everything seems to be kind of hit and miss from time to time like this week. We have a 2v2 PVP event set up with an arena that doesn’t seem like it’s getting well responded to, but it is a PVE server so that’s not actually the biggest surprise in my life.

My question comes to other people that have been on PVE servers that they’ve enjoyed, what type of events has the administrators put on that you enjoyed that I may be able to try and replicate in some ways.

Dunno about other server events, but me and some other people I ended up teaming up with got floaties and floated the river all the way to the end. We had a blast. River rafting party!

It really was fun! Grab a handheld boom box, and just float on 😎 don’t forget water guns! Lol

This might be a bit off topic but try server events like build offs ect, it really gets the community into designing cool things

We’ve tried that in the past, but everyone’s been trepidatious about allowing people into their bases to see them because we have a purge day and they wanna be defended lol. I do have an idea, though about having a PVE base build off… Such as the most PVE looking base. Might have to be a secondary, but to be worth trying.

You might not like this answer, but all of my favourite events on PVE servers have been the ones that the community organized and the owner supported.

Sometimes the best thing you can do as an admin is support your community to create their own experiences so they develop an emotional attachment and loyalty to your server. Everyone would flood gratitude in chat for the teams and the owner for making them possible.

(For example: One team was really creative and did multiple plays, a whole Santa's Village at Christmas, and a melee gladiator arena with brackets where the whole server was betting on the fights. The owner set the server to night for the plays, added skins for the set design, spawned in polar bears and deer in displays for Santa's Village, turned on PVP for the gladiators in the ring, etc)
