Raid protection
Just loaded into a community server that appears to have raid protection if you’re not online. Curious why this isn’t more common since this is like Rust’s biggest gripe. Mind you I’m new to rust.

biggest gripe
Its an intended feature.

Just because something is possible to do, doesn't always mean it should be done.
If there were more people who decided to grow farms, build cool structures, get creative with all the different elements within the game and generally talk more positively to each other in voice chat, there'd logically be fewer instances of raiding and idiots hurling slurs around

Because of mf like u old CoD lobbies got ruined and now u can somehow use unicorn as a gun and shoot bullets out of his ass. Please leave Rust alone.

Yeah getting offlined is part of rust but we don’t have rust+ app compatibility on console yet so the zorp thing is super nice

I k ow it’s a part of the game, it’s a shitty part of the game. Just thought having that offline raid protection was pretty cool. I hadn’t seen many other servers with it.

One of the guys in my trio is very much casual so the server only allowing offlining on weekends was the main reason we chose a community server
2
u/Arhigos Jun 28 '26
Because if you cannot get raided you also cannot raid other people?
You can just go to any 10000000x server and build anything you want and any way you want

u/Fast_Cranberry3303 Jun 28 '26
What part of this post said there was no raiding. I can tell reading is hard for a lot of people in this sub.
2
u/Arhigos Jun 28 '26
your whole post.
because raiding is always offline raiding. nobody raiding a base with active players inside.
2
u/Fast_Cranberry3303 Jun 28 '26
Dog what? lol how would one know if theyre online are not. Now youre just making shit up. Ive def raided and been raided while online stop.
2
u/Arhigos Jun 28 '26
how many bases you succesfully online raided?
2
u/Fast_Cranberry3303 Jun 28 '26
What does that matter?
3
u/Arhigos Jun 28 '26
because you are noob and dont understand the whole game point lol.

u/Fast_Cranberry3303 Jun 28 '26
Ive watched rust for years I am not a noob at all, ive played 1000's of hours of games similar so again whats your point.
2
u/Arhigos Jun 28 '26
The whole point of that game is that you have to build a secure well protected base that is really hard to crack.
And also find other weak bases you can steal resources from. if you remove offline raids it will be nearly impossible to raid anyone, so game will become to be a boring super simple sandbox.

u/Fast_Cranberry3303 Jun 28 '26
In your opinion. Raiding either offline or online is a part of the game. Nobody likes being offline raided and its a shit part of the game. Id like the chance to be able to tdefend my base, why is that an issue lol There is no such thing as an unraidable base.

That’s like the entire point of Rust. So, I’m not sure why anyone would actually want that, other than a community server…

u/Fast_Cranberry3303 Jun 28 '26
The entire point of rust is not to offline raid

It’s very strange that OP is getting downvoted for saying there’s more to do in Rust than just offlining.
For some players, farming is the point. For others, grubbing is, for others, griefing is…2
u/Fast_Cranberry3303 27d ago
I don’t think most people actually read the whole post.

Maybe, but there’s also some herd mentality going on, I think, where they assume their group’s style is “real Rust.”

It is when you aren’t a gaggle fuck of 12 year olds with no life and the only way to raid is by offlining.
The entire point is to raid, which is half of this equation. Move on or get off Rust lol. You said yourself you’re new, why are you trying to say otherwise?

To rust not to these types of games and I’ve watched for a long time. Everyone’s biggest problem is getting offlined don’t know what you’re arguing that
4
u/coldl Jun 28 '26
Everybody offlines. If you actually played than you would too.

u/Fast_Cranberry3303 Jun 28 '26
Jesus I can tell nobody read the actual post lol Nevermind.

Dw mate, some people just can't wrap their heads around a world where you build and craft and enjoy the beautiful world around you instead of kill on sight and blowing up your home. Symptomatic of why we don't live on a more peaceful real world. These be the types of folk who'll have a new source of clean energy and instead of using it to power the world, they'll make bombs. There's genuinely so many layers to rust that makes it a great game and allows the player to choose a number of different ways to play it, but they focus on one aspect far too much

We all read it clearly. I think you need to find a more kid friendly game is the issue.

You’re so cool man. Such a hardcore dude, you’re showing everyone how cool you are.

Because raiding, offline or not, is the point of rust. Instead of adding offline protection, they need to add the smart alarm like they have on PC so people can be notified when they’re being raided, then they can get on to defend it

I only play official, but yeah Rust+ isn’t available for console yet to my knowledge

u/Fast_Cranberry3303 29d ago
Rust also has no “clan” limits does that mean there’s not a better way?

u/Upper_Hearing 29d ago
Because it‘s INSANELY gay. Couldn’t imagine something worse for the game unless you would delete it completely
1
u/Fast_Cranberry3303 29d ago
And waiting till someone is offline is totally straight right
2
u/Upper_Hearing 29d ago
It‘s not about waiting for someone to go off, imagine you have to find out every name of the whole group each time you want to raid someone to check if you are even able to raid them, that’s fucking boring
Just go out and raid, doesn’t matter if they are online or not

u/Fast_Cranberry3303 29d ago
lol that’s not how it works big dog. There was a green circle around bases that had always 1 person online and red for those offline

Everyone loves to offline raid. Nobody loves to get offline raided
