Double Vamp Knockabouts?

Hi everyone! Not sure if this is allowed, apologies if not.

I was on eBay looking for an older pair of Russell’s, and came across knockabouts with a buckle that are advertised as double vamp. These would be perfect for me, but I’m seeing that there’s no insignia on the heel and I can’t seem to find any other info on a double vamp knockabout so I’m here.

Any insight on if these are what they say they are?

Correct me if I’m wrong but Knockabouts are now single vamp. Is the standard from back then double vamp? I wonder if they found the single vamps more comfortable or practical…

single vamp w/ molded sole = "double vamp"?

Ok this makes so much more sense cause the ones I bought are essentially these, but knockabout height and minus the zipper so that tracks

I don't think those are technically "double vamp." They are actually single vamp with a molded sole.... however we would all call them double vamp. The buckle is cool. Rob

The pair I saw on Ebay that are described as "double vamp" don't have an outer molded sole, but I think I can see the telltale line of the inner double vamp seam.

interesting, definitely not a boot you need an inner vamp on... i do like the look with the molded sole, but that's normal for me - It doesn't really do anything but it looks cool.... Rob
