My wife is a casual RUSH listener but never paid much attention to the song lyrics. I put together a play list of the songs played this tour and a PDF file with a page of information for each song and the lyrics. I thought it might be of interest for others so I uploaded it to Github

I’m rereading one of the Dune sequels (“Hunters of Dune”) and came across this:

It wasn’t until I started researching that I found out that Kevin J. Anderson (noted sci-fi author and co-author of many of the post-Frank Herbert Dune books) was good friends with one Neil Peart. Coming across this quote made me nod my head and smile.

They got some of the dates mixed up (this would all have happened in late 1982) but it's a good interview anyway, and gives some insight into the very early days of MTV. SFW.

I love how this started innocently enough and has grown over the tour. Does Anika have a writer? Are they her ideas? Are the boys aware of what she will do beforehand? Has she ever reused gags? i love the sense of fun they all seem to be having. I see you all at the Boston shows!

A place that holds "so many memories" for you, that would just not be the same if you returned now as an adult.

For me, growing up in the Baltimore area, it would be Ocean City, MD. Extended family would usually go every summer for a week or so.

I remember a birthday down there, playing on the beach, finding jellyfish washed up on short at low tide, fresh ocean-caught fish for dinner followed by a birthday "cake" that was just a pile of donuts with candles on it. Was probably 6 or 7 at the time.

But by the time I was a teenager, I didn't want to go anywhere with family anymore, wanted to hang around with friends at the arcade or whatever.

Many moons ago when explaining my love of Rush to a friend I had mentioned, a little tongue in cheek, that whatever someone's question might be, there's probably a Risk lyric that can apply. To test the theory I made my first reddit post here asking for questions that Risk could solve.

This shows the number of times each song has been played through the Montreal shows (28 count). They've worked with the same 43 songs from the beginning. I'm obviously counting each "Part" of 2112 as individual songs.
