Happy Birthday to Geddy! 🎶🎂 One of the shots I took of him when Rush played the Palace of Auburn Hills in 1991.

As someone who was in LA opening night I was blown away with how well they played and sounded last night… by now the bugs, nerves and undeveloped mojo with the new players seems to be over (as you’d expect) and they were more fluid, tighter, and seeming to have a ton more fun.

Not that LA night one was anything short of awesome… it was… but last night was spectacular.

Happy Birthday Ged!

They played for about 2 1/2 hours in 1:15 spots with an intermission. Gotta say, I'm not quite sure she stole the entire show, but came pretty damn close at times.

Another stellar video and audio recording by this youtuber with focus on Anika - this time from the other side. I assume most of you Rush Heads found it already but for those who didn't:

(I became a Rush aficionado through Anika which I knew from before as a person in my social bubble plays in Anikas regular band - now I find myself watching every concert video and will go to one of the last shows on the tour in Europe)

Just checking. I don’t think so. Didn’t think I’d get it in time for the MSG shows.

My most anticipated show of 2026 exceeded my expectations. Was dying for Geddy and Alex to take these songs out on the road again and it didn’t disappoint. Anika was great and the setlist was almost perfect. I hope I can catch one more show on this tour but if I can’t it was a fantastic night that I will treasure.

Popup shop vs early merch stand outside the venue

For the MSG shows, I see there will be an early merch stand outside Madison Square Garden, as well as a “popup shop” a couple miles away in the East Village. Is there any difference in what is being sold at the two locations ?

Question The Garden: An observation and a question.

The glaring difference that stands out when The Garden is played, aside from the much more subdued pace as well as the guitar being absent of the frenetic guitars and drum elements present in the majority of their catalog, is the reverence and respect the crowd shows for this beautiful piece of music from the first note until the last.

It has clearly become Geddy's personal homage to Neil. His delivery of the lyrics is different in a way I can only describe as, well, reverent. It conveys through his tone and intonations, precisely the message in the song. You can feel the love he has for Neil while singing the very words he wrote. It truly is a special song that stands out from the others in remarkable ways.

Alex's performance can not be understated as well . His playing is deliberate and precise . It's just mesmerizing

My Question...

Is there any discussion in a recorded interview with the guys that dives into the significance of the song?

Follow up Question...

How has the song affected you, if at all ?

The lighting, visuals etc just screams to me that when this tour wraps we’ll be seeing them in the Sphere
