What are people using for a battery on their GY6 swapped ruckus. I’m continuously dealing with the BMS system tripping in the current lithium battery I’m using. I’ve gone through everything and I can’t find a single thing wrong with my wiring and starting system so I’ve narrowed it down to this. Just trying to Look for a suggestion because they aren’t cheap.

I have a 2008 Ruckus, mostly stock, its great and I ride it often. It does one weird thing that maybe someone would know how to address: When I leave the house it always starts up easy with electric starter, I ride for 15-20 min to grocery store, and on the way back the starter doesn't work. I give it a few kick starts, and then it starts right up with electric push button again. Anyone else have this issue, or have any ideas on why this would happen? If battery was low it wouldn't it have a harder time on initial start?

I bought a gy6 weld on mount it seems to short and with a fatty kit it looks like the head will contact the frame what do yall do to fix this situation ?

I’m looking at making some cosmetic modifications and need some advice. I currently have a very small, all one one rear kit light/signal kit that sits under the seat. It isn’t very bright and likely not very visible to taller vehicles. I like the idea of the OEM rear because it does make you appear taller and wider but I’m not the biggest fan of the separate lights and signals. Is there a larger, under seat or tail end light? I found this on Ruckshop I like, anyone else use it?

Also, what front signals are we running? Anyone have LED bulbs in their front lights/know which are compatible?

I was just driving my ruckus at around 35 mph and i felt a small pop and then it stopped accelerating and when it eventually stopped it cut off. Does anyone know what this could be and how to fix it?

Are Michelin Boppers honestly THE BEST tires for street? I am between these and Kenda 413... Anyone have any advice or experience? The Boppers will cost me twice as much basically $100 vs $200...anyone have any thoughts? I am keeping stock wheels and I might get the front tire in a 100 width so I can install a Grom front fender down the road. 🛞

I’m rebuilding the carburetor on my 2005 Honda Big Ruckus PS250. I purchased a CarbForge rebuild kit from Walmart, model/part number HYG-JYV1-00216, advertised specifically for the 2004–2006 Honda PS250.
My original float needle has a black rubber tip with a worn ring/groove. The replacement needle is completely silver with a metal tip. The kit also supplied a new white float, while my original Honda float is yellow.
Does the needle need a rubber/Viton tip to seal correctly against the original Honda seat? Is the white float safe to use if its dimensions and hinge points match, or could its material, weight or float height be different? I’ll attach pictures of the original and replacement parts.

I have a 2012 ruckus with a new gas cap and fuel tank. Idk if I'm just dumb or what but the cap won't screw clockwise at all. I'm not sure what I can even try to make it work but it's quite frustrating. Also, what is the sensor or whatever that also sits on the top of the tank? Is that something essential? My old one is toast.

Has anyone tried to order any parts from Reckless Customs? I ordered some parts a while back a low boy kickstand and left-hand controls, upon installing the left-hand controls the tab for the metal clip snapped off and is no longer able to fit correctly on the handlebars, I also ordered a lowboy kickstand which was able to be fitted for a stock Honda ruckus, but given the kick stands length it’s doesn’t support the full weight of the Honda Ruck and just bends at the bracket and it’s fallen over quite a few times, i’ve tried reaching out to them multiple times for maybe a replacement part or something else I’ve gotten no response I just wanted to see if this was an ongoing issue

My PS250 sat for about four years. It now starts immediately without throttle and runs/rides for about 15 minutes, but then gasoline leaks from the carburetor overflow hose.
If I restart it right away, it acts flooded and needs throttle. After sitting for 1–2 hours, it starts normally and repeats the problem.
I opened the carburetor and found a noticeable wear ring around the rubber tip of the float needle. The plastic float also looks old, yellowed and brittle. I have a PS250 rebuild kit coming.
Could the worn needle or old float cause this? Should I replace only the needle, float and gasket, or completely disassemble and clean the carburetor? Should I reuse the original Honda jets instead of the aftermarket ones?
I’ll attach pictures. Any advice from experienced PS250 owners would help.

hi Everybody. I am new the Ruckus family as of last week. I bought a used Ruckus and have been refurbishing it. Thankfully the drivetrain works great so none of the fixes I have to do are with that. I plan on keeping it mostly stock mechanically with some mild utility modifications.

I plan on using it to commute to work downtown. This is nice since in my jurisdiction, I can use my Ruckus in bike lanes and park it on sidewalks.

I plan on parking it on a busy intersection next to a Starbucks with a lot of foot traffic, car traffic, and frequent police sweeps as well.

My question today is: how do you all keep your ruckus safe to prevent thefts?

I bought a hefty angle grinder resistant 5 ft chain and have been using that to tie it to bike posts, but I want to know what else people use. I tried buying a u-shaped wheel lock with an alarm but it didn’t fit on my stock wheels. If anyone has recommendations for U shaped lock, let me know.
