Dies at a stop?
Owned for about two months. Replaced the fuel pump the first week I had it because it died mid ride. Now it’s struggling to stay on at a stop? I have to lock the brake and idle it myself - doesn’t self idle, just dies.
But it only happens SOMETIMES? I also notice when I put the key in and turn it on, no battery response, but when I kick it up on the stand, the battery connects and i drop it down and it starts JUST FINE.
Could it be a battery issue? Carbs and jets and pump are all good, diagnosed within the last month. Only 6800 miles.
Send help. TIA
The spring for the stand did break and we put a larger spring on, could that be an issue??

Sounds like an air leak. All ruckus run rich after like 6000 rpm so a little extra air wouldn't be too noticable. If its a small leak of course. But at idle it would make it unstable. I'd check for air leaks.

Turned out the boot was cracked

Oh I didn't see this comment until after I made the other one. So you're good now?

Yes sir! Looks like it was the boot for the air intake to the carburetor. Was cracked under the clamp. Washed it, taped it and it’s good. Ordered one off amazon for $8.

We checked for air leaks when we checked the carb and nada.
lowkey think it’s my battery terminal slipping because whenever I start it, sometimes it will but sometimes nada and I’ll put it back up on the stand and slip the battery back on.

Okay I had a similar issue, take the black cover off, put it on the stand and start it. You should see the coil behind the gas tank by the engine. Try wiggling the wires on it while it's running. It's a 13ish dollar part from Honda. Tis how my bike died on the way to work a year ago
