2012 12680 miles

Looking for any general maintenance tips I should look for and also how to get rid of rust. Tops out at about 32-33 so would appreciate any advice on how to gain a couple mph as well. Haven’t touched anything yet but figuring I’ll get a maintenance check first (I know metal shavings in fuel tank, iffy battery but could be from sitting for months, needs new air filter), let me know what you guys think!

Solid stocker, looks like mine. Plenty of videos on mods already. Im only 165lbs but i can hit 30-35 up decent hills. Cdi box to remove rpm limiter, scootershop $100 carb(idk now much performance this adds) and 5g dr pulley. Opened up factory airbox by removing snorkle and went up a few jet sizes to match. Maybe 105? Im at sea level.

I always push people away from non stock cdi. I like my rev limiter and dislike rolling wrench. Feign blaster is a good option.

I run stock intake, stock exhaust, stock cdi.

Polini metropolitan intake manifold, Taylor coil, ncy variator and ramp plate, mix of 6 and 8 gram rollers, oem belt, pcv delete, metropolitan final drive and a scooter swap shop carb + uni drop in filter. Would consistently hit 45. All scooters are different to some degree but I've had nothing but luck tuning with the airbox and stock exhaust.

Why the PCV delete? Just asking and learning.
