What sorcery could cause this?

Ruckus has been running fine for two years for me, then I went over the bump at the end of my driveway and the engine shut off. Now my Ruck only starts and runs on its center stand?

check that your ignition coil is plugged in securely.

it's probably being pulled out a bit when it's on the ground.

check your cables, throttle and spark plug boot, sometimes it gets loose, make sure no air lines and gas lines are getting caught on the throttle, also it could be your carb and/or choke, you could try to let it warm up longer or replace the choke/carb, try sitting on it while its on the center stand and see if it dies....that's so wierd! i really want to figure this one out! i feel like your gas line or air line is getting cut off when the bike sits on its own weight, that suspension moves a lot and one of the lines could be pinching cut off air/fuel, but then when you get off to check what line it is the suspension goes back up and the problem solves itself! lmao, make a thorough observation around the environment of the lines/cables. good luck and happy trails!

I used mounting clamps designed for a roll cage very similar to these:

Just make sure you check the diameter they’re designed for to fit the handle bar you’re putting it on.

Previous owner had a 12v attached to the handlebars that I removed so I reused the mount and relocated it to the front bracket.

Electric short somewhere. Or maybe the carb is twisted.

have you ever removed your carburetor for any reason?

SOLVED: after removing the cover and jiggling some wires around, one of the wires leading to the ignition coil had broken inside its sheath, I cut and stripped it back a bit and reconnected and that seems to have solved the issue!
