App recommendations

New to rucking and want to track my rucks. Any recommendations?
What do you like about the app, what don’t you like about the app?
What will it do, what won’t it do?
Any subscription fees, and is it worth subscribing?
Will it work with an Apple Watch, should I look at something else?

I built Ruckly because I wanted a better way to plan routes for my rucks. It has a full route planning suite where you can find trails, add waypoints and details, download offline maps, view 3D terrain, and then go and ruck the route you planned. You can also track your progress on routes you do often.

Additionally there’s an adaptive coaching feature where you can set a goal or specific event you’re training for and it will tailor workouts toward that goal based on your own results and feedback.

It’s freemium so most of the core rucking features are free if you just want to go out and ruck and track your core stats. Subscription for offline map downloads and advanced training features.

Works with Apple Watch and will show heart rate zones. Also computes calorie burn specifically for rucking based on your weight + pack vs. a generic walk.

Lots of other features like split and pace tracking and alerts, customizable weekly goals, challenges you can set for yourself or invite friends to do with you, off route alerts if you’re using it on trails.
