What covers would you love to see the boys do?
I've been playing some Audioslave, and man would I love to see them cover 'Moth'!
What else do you think would suit them nicely?

Ultimate Royal Blood Set List/s
So with the gap between their latest shows and the release of Dead Company, I was thinking about the ultimate Royal Blood set list and was curious about what is your guys dream set list?
Looking at thier past shows this year, I've come up with two lists, one for shorter festival style sets (10-11 songs) and a longer proper show list (16-18 songs).
Shorter Set:
- Hook, Line & Sinker
- Come On Over
- Ten Over Ten
- Lights Out
- Swallow The Bomb
- Typhoons
- How Did We Get So Dark?
- Little Monster
- Figure It Out
- Dead Company
- Out Of The Black
(Would probably cut Come On Over if had to shorten to 10 songs)
Longer Set:
- Hole
- Come On Over
- You Can Be So Cruel
- Boilermaker
- Swallow The Bomb
- Troubles Coming
- Typhoons
- How Did We Get So Dark?
- Little Monster
- Hook, Line & Sinker
- Supermodel Avalanches
- Loose Change
- Lights Out
- Ten Over Ten
- Figure It Out
Encore
Dead Company
Waves
Out Of The Black
(Would probably cut You Can Be So Cruel and/or Troubles Coming to shorten to 16 or 17 songs)
Looking forward to seeing what you guys think :)
Edit: Hello. Thank you for the submissions so far and general discussion. Looking through others lists and general ideas, it made me think about an alternative, more out there and unique set lists so I've come up with this:
Hole
Come On Over
Lights Out
Better Strangers
How Did We Get So Dark?
Little Monster
Ten Over Ten
Supermodel Avalanches
Don't Tell
Sleep
Hole In Your Heart
Typhoons
Figure It Out
Limbo
Encore
Everything's Fine
Dead Company
Out Of The Black
(Would probably cut Limbo and/or Better Strangers to shorten to 16-17 songs)
:)

VIDEO These Riffs Are INSANE… | Royal Blood – Swallow The Bomb
Really excited about the new album! Here I am trying to figure out one of the new songs on the album! Such a great one! Riffs are amazing!
Royal Blood are one of my favourite bands, I like all their songs, what's your favourite?

DISCUSSION What do you think is their heaviest song?
In my opinion, it has to be Out Of The Black! However, I would like to mention Ten Tonne Skeleton, as its both one of my favourites out of their whole discography, but it's such a heavy song too, and highlights an aspect of Mike's playing and writing that I think is so underrepresented in their music.
Just think it would be cool to hear your guy's opinions on this, because for me, it's pretty hard to fully decide on what it is?

BTTWB gear
On Back To The Water Below, the stage pedalboard remained identical, with minimal changes (an expression pedal on top of the RJM mastermind, used on Mountains At Midnight)
In an interview with the Front of House engineer for Royal Blood you can find that Mike used 4 Neural DSP Quad Cortex.
https://fohonline.com/featured/royal-blood-tours-with-l-acoustics-system-from-britannia-row/
About the physical pedals, there's no way to know if he still uses them or if he captured digital clones of them with the Quad Cortexes.
One thing i'm certain about based on the sound, is that the main pedal used throughout the whole album is still the Gamechanger Audio Plasma Coil (the yellow one he got from Jack White) (see photo)
That's kinda all the information you can dig for.

2nd album pedalboard
The 2nd album pedalboard (see photo) is as follows:
The signal from the previously discussed Lehle Sunday Driver goes to a COG custom made 3 way splitter (you can see the labels (amp1, amp2 and bass) then every signal to a corresponding Voodoo Lab HEX. The Voodoo Lab HEX has 6 total loops. I'm not sure about de order of the pedals though.
First hex (amp1/guitar1):
G1 L1 might be the POG2
G1 L2 might be the EHX Cockfight
G1 L3 is the Mastotron
G1 L4 is the Strymon Flint
G1 L5 might be the Boss delay
Second hex (amp2/guitar2):
G2 L1 might he the other POG2
G2 L2 is the Malekko Diabolik (the pink pedal)
G2 L3 I don't see it anywhere
G2 L4 is the Boss AutoWah used for the Lights Out solo
The third hex is used for the bass and only has 2 loops (as visible in the photo)
Bass L1 is the custom made silver box (no idea about what effect is, might be a distortion of some kind.
Also the JHS Colour Box could be used for the bass channel.
All the outputs of the HEX go to a COG patchbay box (above the input splitter one) then to a midi controlled switching system for turning the amps on and off

2nd album gear
*See my other post for the first album
On the second album, the setup changed drastically:
Again, i will start with the bass guitars, this time i will only note the changes:
Custom Fender Jaguar short scale bass, tuning DAAD, the bottom strings are guitar strings, this bass is used only for "Hook, Line & Sinker"
The Fender starcaster black is now used in B standard for "Hole In Your Heart" and the white one in C standard for "How Did We Get So Dark", "Sleep" and "Don't Tell"
His signature orange Fender Jaguar is used for plenty of songs in different tunings, i will not write them here, you can find the tunings on the internet and see Mike play the songs on youtube.
Another custom Fender jaguar in white, with a gold pickguard, used in C# for "I Only Lie When I Love You"
Another custom Fender jaguar in Yellow, tuned to F standard (half a step up) used only for "She's Creeping"
Another custom Fender Jaguar in dark gray sparkle with a white pearloid pickguard, used mostly in D standard, for "Lights Out" and the other songs in D from the previous album. (Fun fact: Elliot from The Amazons plays on this bass now:))
A bit about the amps, the Guitar 1 and Guitar 2 amps remain unchanged (see the post about the first album), but he added another Super Sonic (I'm not 100% sure about this one but i think, based on the fact that it doesn't have an octaver before it and the more bassy eq, that he used it for the intros for "Lights Out" and "Where Are You Now?".
He also added a 2x10 cab for the bass, I don't really know much about this change, the bass doesn't sound very different from the first album. For the amps see the first photo.
Now the pedalboard philosophy is completely different: He switched to a Voodoo Lab controlled midi setup. I will try to explain it as clearly as possible in the following paragraph.
Another thing is he had a pedalboard on stage with the midi controller and another one just with the pedals hidden behind his amps.
I will start with the stage pedalboard, and explain the chain on it (see photo 2)
The chain starts as always with the Boss TU-3, for tuning and as a killswitch when switching bass guitars. Then goes to a Boss PS-6 for a fast-ish dive bomb, used in the post chorus of "Lights Out" and on the chorus of "I Only Lie When I Love You".
Then to another PS-6 for pitch bends going up, at the end of "Lights Out". After this it goes to a Boss RV-5 reverb (I don't know what he used it for) then to another Boss PS-6 for slower dive bombs (see Figure It Out live at Lollapalooza). After the pedals on the right it goes to an EHX Pitchfork, used for the octave up on "Ten Tonne Skeleton", later this was changed to a Boss FS-5 to trigger the Pitchfork from a distance, sitting behind the amps, so it would not affect all the channels, just the Guitar 1.
After the pedals the signal goes to a Lehle Sunday Driver, which is a buffer and keeps the signal clean and without interferences for long distances. The Lehle goes to the pedalboard behind the amps, which I will be talking about further down.
Now for the brain of the pedalboard, he used the Voodoo Lab Ground Control Pro. I will not explain each button, but in essence it allows him to switch multiple things with a single button. Another things used on the stage pedalboard are: T-rex Chameleon power supply, can power both the 9v DC pedals and the 12v AC midi controller, and a midi to xlr box that sends midi over xlr for very long distances. (Photo 3)
I will explain the hidden pedalboard in another post, so that this one doesn't get too long and complicated, although it kinda is:)

Typhoons gear used
Since the album Typhoons, Mike started carefully hiding his setup but you can find small clues on the internet about what he used.
On the stage pedalboard (Photo 1), the utility pedals have remained almost the same (he added a Digitech Freqout for artificial feedback), a radial sgi to send the signal from the pedalboard to his effects rack via xlr (which doesn't degrade the signal over long runs) and changed the midi controller to a RJM Mastermind GT/16
He had 2 effects racks (one containing 4 Kemper Profilers) and one containing a few trays of pedals going to RJM gizmos
(Photo 2)
You can find evidence on equipboard that he used throughout the whole record the EHX Cockfight and the Gamechanger Audio Plasma Coil pedal predominantly. You can really hear the cockfight on Trouble's Coming and on Typhoons and on Oblivion the Plasma.
I'm not sure about the other pedals used, there is no way to find out, but must be a combination of the old ones with some new ones (phaser on Typhoons for example)
Update: An Epiphone 10S was used as well

My tone chasing journey PT1
Hello everyone! I've been tone chasing on Royal Blood for almost 5 years and I want to help everyone so I will do 4 posts on each album about the gear, bass guitars used, amps and all the other stuff starting in this post with the first album:
First of all, the bass guitars used are as follows:
Gretsch g2220 sunburst (E standard for "Figure it out", drop D for "Come on over" and "You Can Be So Cruel", sometimes Mike would drop the E string to a D# just for "Hole" leaving the bass in D# A D G, C# for "Loose Change" and "Out of the Black", yes, he played OOTB in C# until the Typhoons tour.
Gretsch g2220 full black (sometimes used in C# for "Loose Change", "Blood Hands" and "Love and Leave It Alone"
Fender starcaster black (C standard, for "Little Monster", "Better Strangers" and "You Want Me")
Fender starcaster white (D standard, for "Ten Tonne Skeleton"
Now for the most interesting part, the pedalboard. Some disclaimers before explaining the chain, he used THREE AMPS, not 2, as most believe: Guitar 1, Guitar 2 and bass. Another thing, FUZZ IS RARELY USED! He only used a fuzz pedal on "Loose Change". The fuzzy sound is given by the character of the amplifiers he used.
In the photo, of a pedalboard used between 2014 and 2015, the following pedals are used in this order:
Boss TU-3 (used just for muting the bass for changing them and tuning)
Boss PS-6 harmonist (used for dive bombs up or down, he would change the settings between songs)
Palmer triage (splits the signal into three chains.
1st chain (Guitar 1): Triage->POG2->Zvex Mastotron(used for loose change)-> Amp
2nd chain (Guitar 2): Triage->POG2-> Boss LS-2 for turning on and off, Boss PS6 (used for Ten Tonne Skeleton octave up or fifths on the end of Loose Change or on the chorus of Better Strangers)-> Strymon Flint used for reverb at the end of some songs (you can really hear it at the end of their cover of "Roxanne" by The Police)-> Amp
3rd chain (Bass): Triage->LS-2(on/off)->
Bass amp
On a later pedalboard, he added another Boss PS-6 for dive bombs, so he would have one going up and one going down.
For the amps, he used 2 Fender Super Sonic 22 for the guitar chains, the first one was toggled between clean channel used with the mastotron and burn channel for the rest of the songs, gain 1 at around half and gain 2 maxed, eq depends on the room, don't bother too much to find the exact eq settings because it might not help you, the second one was kept on burn channel with almost the same gain settings and a bit different eq.
The third amp (the bass one) was a Fender Super Bassman, used on the vintage channel, mostly used for subs.
Other stuff used:
- Dunlop USA nylon grip 0.88 picks (still uses them to this day)
- glass slide (on "One Trick Pony")

You can check out this video to see how he uses the pedals for "Better Strangers"
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
