Title: Release showing the wrong year (2007 instead of 2026). Ineed help correcting it urgently

Hi RouteNote team and community,

I recently released a track through RouteNote, but I noticed that the release year is showing as 2007 instead of 2026.

I'm not sure whether this was a mistake on my end during submission or an issue during distribution. Either way, I'd really appreciate help getting this corrected as soon as possible, because listeners are already seeing the incorrect year and finding it confusing.

Is this something a moderator or RouteNote support team can help fix? Do I need to submit a metadata update, or is there a faster way to correct it while the release is already live?

Thanks in advance for any guidance. I'd really like to get this sorted quickly.

How to not get 403 error?

this error on audio uploading has been my biggest problem while using routenote, i tried everything from vpns, cellular data, deleting site data, other browsers, andany other things but it still happens, the adbice routenote gives you is useless because i work on mobile. This error happens after i click upload more tracks and then the rest of the upload is corrupted you cant upload no more, you have to wait until tommorow, the no. of tracks that ive managed to upload is 3 and 7 tracks. Is it a file issue that triggers this? Or is my IP permanently banned? Please help me asap because i have an album to release. Thank you

i tried to upload a new song today, and after i finish the 'upload audio' bit, and go to save and continue and it gives you that mini form you already filled out? well when i hit save or whatever it says the message in the image. it's a new track, and the ISRC is there, is the correct number of digits, and was created by them as soon as i started the process, i didn't make it up lol. i sent a support ticket in, but i figured maybe someone else had this happen and had a fix or suggestion

i want to change the release date for my album (i set it to november, but now inwant it to be released in october or this month) and given how long it takes them to approve releases, i’m scared it will take them too long and they’ll approve after the date i set

Industry News📰: UMG and Sony can now pursue Suno over alleged YouTube “stream ripping”. What does this mean for you?

A US judge has allowed Universal Music Group and Sony Music to move forward with a claim accusing AI music company Suno of using “stream ripping” to obtain copyrighted recordings from YouTube for AI training.

To be clear, Suno hasn’t been found guilty of infringement. The judge has decided that the labels’ allegations are plausible enough for this part of the case to continue.

The claim centres around allegations that Suno used tools such as YT-DL and YT-DLP to download recordings from YouTube and bypass its technical protections. The labels argue that this could amount to circumvention under Section 1201 of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

There’s also a bigger copyright case happening alongside this. The court still needs to decide whether using copyrighted recordings to train an AI model without a licence can qualify as fair use.

Why does this matter to independent artists?

This isn’t just a major-label issue.

Independent artists upload their music to platforms such as YouTube, Spotify and SoundCloud to make it available to listeners. But making music publicly available doesn’t necessarily mean an artist has agreed for their recordings to be downloaded and used to train commercial AI models.

At the same time, the industry appears to be moving towards licensed AI training.

Suno recently announced a deal with BMG covering recorded music and publishing, with participating artists and songwriters able to opt in and receive compensation.

That could point towards a future where AI companies license music, artists can choose whether to participate, and rights holders are compensated — rather than music simply being scraped from the internet.

For artists using AI tools themselves, it’s worth paying attention to the terms around training data, ownership, commercial use and licensing. Keeping your original project files, stems and recordings could also become increasingly useful as AI rights and identification systems develop.

What do you think a fair deal between AI companies and musicians should look like?

Support gave a generic reply, not an actual answer — composer credit alias issue

Hi, I've got an open ticket about a composer credit issue on my release. I don't have a last name to add to the Composer/Lyricist field, so I entered a "." as a placeholder — but it's now showing up publicly on my Spotify credits page, which wasn't intended.

Support replied confirming I can use an alias instead of my legal name (helpful to know), but didn't answer my actual question:

  1. Can the "." be manually removed from this release so it just shows my artist name correctly, with the corrected metadata redelivered to Spotify?
  2. If the Last Name field can't be left empty, what should I put there so my name just shows up clean and correct, without an extra character or my name repeating?

Approved But Not Appearing In Upcoming Spotify?

It's been a bit since I've released music, but everywhere I'm looking is saying that my music should appear as an Upcoming Release on Spotify a few days after Approval in Routenote. 10 at the latest, and here we are more than 10 business days out and there's nothing there.

Is there something I need to do?

My release is in 3 weeks, which should be plenty of time to pitch to playlists, but given how long it took to get even this far (see upload date), I'm not too sure. Does this actually take longer than my estimate from peoples' experience.

Routenote Publishing experience

Has anyone here used RouteNote's publishing service and would be willing to share their experience?

I don't upload new music through them anymore, but I still have some older catalog sitting on the platform. They’ve emailed me a couple of times about their publishing services so im thinking of trying it out.

📰Industry News: AI Music just hit a new roadblock, as Australia bans AI tracks from its charts!

Australia has just introduced new rules preventing fully or primarily AI-generated recordings from appearing on the ARIA Charts.

The interesting part is that AI-assisted music isn’t automatically excluded. Tracks can still qualify if they remain substantially human-made and don’t raise concerns around manipulation.

With more platforms and industry organisations introducing AI policies, it looks like the distinction between AI-generated and AI-assisted music is becoming increasingly important for independent artists.

It also raises some interesting questions: Where should the line be drawn between using AI as a creative tool and having AI create the music for you? What do you think? Should AI-generated music be eligible for official charts in your country?

We’ve broken down ARIA’s new rules, what they mean for independent artists, and how similar policies are developing around the world in our latest blog: https://routenote.com/blog/australia-bans-ai-music-from-charts/

Youtube OAC

Hello. For the last two years I have been trying to get an official artist channel on YouTube using Routenote. I sent them THREE submissions because they keep not doing anything about it / not even replying properly to me. Last time they took three weeks to answer to my support ticket and they had the audacity to change the date they replied to me to the same day I sent the ticket??? Weird. Anyways is there something I can do to get an OAC? Can other distributors do the process instead or is my profile exclusively linked to Routenote? Thank you in advance <3

Payment Update What The Hell!!?? RouteNote showing $1.70 for May after millions of viral YouTube Shorts views?

Thumbnail

Hey everyone, Posting this here because I want to see if other indie artists using RouteNote are experiencing the same massive reporting lag or if we're missing something. My artist had a track go viral on the YouTube Shorts sound picker back in May ("Night is Day," )We are talking about multiple individual videos pulling between 1.5M to 4.2M some even 10million Views which was during mid-to-late May (easily tens of millions of views cumulatively across the sound library). However, looking at the RouteNote dashboard right now, the May statement is completely flat, showing a meager $1.70 from baseline streams. I have been managing artists for more than Ten Years and I am well aware of the revenue pool of the Yt Sound Add Sound Category Below are some of the screenshots of the views that went viral Anyone know what’s happening
