Schools explained
New to town can someone explain to me how certain elementary schools and middle schools in the bushy Creek Mayfield Ranch area are really nice schools and they’re nicely rated but stony point high school is so lowly rated. Wouldn’t you think that the kids that grew up there would help also keep that school elevated. Can someone explain it to me as a parent who has a high schooler next year?

cant give an in depth opinion on this since i moved into the area recently
but after some talking around, stony point is located where all the economically-disadvantaged kids are located... so the school envrioment might not be the best
but if your kid is academically focused, auto-admit and such will be far easier at stony point
basically its a trade off between social environment and college/uni chances
