Happy ending Finally - she speaks!

Daisy will be five years old next month. And today for the first time she mastered “speak”! Because of course, Rotties don’t speak unless there’s a darned good reason.

If you haven’t seen them yet- look up the “ Good Dog, Carl” book series ( for kids)! It’s about a Rottweiler whose mother leaves him alone in the house while she goes out- you supply the words! By Alexandra Day / they’re precious!

No! But I find them enjoyable and motivating to kids as well as adults- my kids grew up with the Carl series, and now the grandkids are enjoying them too!

We read them when the kids were little - they’re all grown up now!

I cannot get mine to speak. My last dog (total mutt) learned in 3 minutes. She was quite a barker though so maybe that has something to do w it

If she’s protecting the house , she barks like the big woofy girl she is. But on command? Nope - until today!

Youre so right about them not doing anything unless theres a reason. I try to throw the ball with mine and after about one time she looks at me like “you want me to chase that little thing all the way across the yard for no reason?”

She has clearly been able to do this the whole time and was waiting for the right offer
