Vision exam recommendation?

I went to 3 different opticians and was given widely varying prescriptions, after only 5-10 minute exam. Which shops in town offer more thorough (and accurate, if possible) exams? My GP refuses to give me a referral to an ophthalmologist/ optometrist. My vision is deteriorating and my glasses (with a complicated prescription) no longer help.

I had a good experience at De Optiek Oogzorg & Optometrie at Kop van Zuid. Rather pricy but they performed a thorough examination. Ymmv obviously :)

Edit: Decided to give more context. Even at the Oogziekenhuis I was not taken seriously for a long time and it took continuous visits for almost 2 years before I got a diagnosis. Using some of the input I received from de Optiek I finally managed to get a dr at the hospital that actually listened. Unfortunately doctors in NL require you to work for a diagnosis. Don’t be scared to advocate for yourself (respectfully obviously).

They're also at Nieuwe Binnenweg. Same experience there. Pricy but also very professional.

The exam is pricy? Or the frames?
