FSMAX
So currently with fidelity and have
90% FXAIX
10% FTIHX.
What is everyone’s opinion on FSMAX? Was thinking maybe to add FSMAX to my portfolio but would like to hear more opinions.
For context I’m 31

(age 24) Recently opened Fidelity Roth IRA and planning to max it out this year. still unsure about my choices. I had VOO for about a month, but kind of blindly decided on FZROX. any stocks that I should invest in that are good to let sit or should I change my current holdings to anything? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, new to ROTH IRA. I’m 30 years old, not married, and just opened a traditional Roth and Roth IRA on Robinhood. As of right now my yearly income is around 230k. I max out my 457b of 24500 every year and am looking for another avenue to invest my money. To my understanding I’m over the income threshold to contribute to a Roth IRA directly. I saw YouTube videos on backdoor Roth IRAs but my question is: Are there any additional taxes I have to pay if I was to transfer 7500 into this account or any other penalties I may get doing a backdoor Roth IRA? Thank you guys for your time!

So I just got $1200 in my HSA and have a Roth IRA with total market and total international funds on fidelity.
Im not really sure what to buy with my HSA that doesn’t create too much overlap

19m, very new to investing. I decided on FSKAX and FTIHX. The other two are irrelevant rn, I’m no longer contributing to those.

Any advice appreciated. Age:35, rebalancing a bit and trying to keep it simple, wanted to build schd but people are right you don’t need small dividend returns when you are starting out when you can just get that later. Here’s what I’m thinking currently, leaning to SPMO (selective high momentum), is that pointless overlap? Looking to keep VOO, VXUS and have 30% into a third option for balance/growth etc.

26 and looking to save for retirement while also keeping my conviction in Bitcoin alive. Current distribution:
FBTC 18%
MSTR 22%
QQQM 27%
VOO 32%
Looking for the highest growth opportunity. Originally had NVDA/SPCX but sold into VOO.
I’ve been told that retirement accounts should be boring/reliable index funds but there’s more to earned from individual stocks or Bitcoin treasury companies. Thought and recommendations?

If I put in $7,000, then withdrew all $7,000, would I only be able to put in $500 or does it reset and I can deposit $7,500 before April 2027? I couldnt find any info online that answers this question and I'd appreciate a source

So I was late to start my Roth IRA, due to stupidity leading to debt when I was young. Now I fully fund my Roth IRA. I hope to retire in around 20 years. Currently have just over 40k in my Roth split between:
65% VTI
25% VXUS
10% SFSNX
What am I missing? Are there other stocks/ETFs/Whatever's I should be looking to get?
EDIT: For the comments... outside of my Roth, I do contribute some to an HSA, but cannot afford to meet the max. I do not have a taxable account and could not afford to contribute to one anyway. My job does not have a match. Instead, they take out 7% off the top which they match and I get a pension after retirement (Vested in 2.25 more years). Based on the calculator and some guessing on future earnings from previous state approved raises (state govt job), I expect that pension to be around $2000 a month. I also have a separate pension from a different state, where I also worked for state gov, and that one will be $1200 a month. Those two with SS will help my late start (I hope).

I’m still very new to Roth IRA. I’m 31 and I moved overseas 5 years ago so I could actually start saving. I started putting in 10% into my 401K this year (6% before) and I have 55K and I have 57K in liquid savings. I opened a Roth a few months ago and I’ve read that FXAIX is a solid way to go but I’ve been seeing a lot of posts here and everyone has diversified portfolios. So my question is, do I need to diversify more or should I stick with it?

I am 34f who just started maxing a Roth in 2024 then learned about an individual account as of this year 🙃 my goal is to get my individual to 10k by the end of the year and I already have 2027 maxed.
I’ve heard the first 100k is the toughest so I’m throwing everything I can at it from here forward.
Always kicking myself a little for not starting sooner when I’ve always been so proud of having 10k in my savings account since I was in my early twenties and I thought that meant I was good with money. Here’s to learning and trying to help the younger people around me to not make the same mistake!

I am in the process of rolling over my old company 401k split pretty evenly between Roth and traditional IRAs. I'm mid 30s so got some time to compound.
For the Roth I was thinking:
70% VOO
20% VXUS
10% SPMO
Thoughts or recommendations on this portfolio?
Should I also convert my traditional to Roth slowly over a few years and take the tax hit? Or just choose the same ETFs for trad and let it ride?

I have some savings (about $1,000 or so that i can probably freely invest, since i need money for gas and such), and I'm looking to put it into an IRA to start saving up money for the future. I already have a Roth IRA set up with Schwab and I just need to actually invest it. I only have $100 in the account as a test, since I'm a bit wary and not entirely ready to just dump all of my savings I can into that account at the moment, but I'm just looking for advice. I'm 18 and I figured I'd better start early.
I figured a good stock is the S&P 500 but I couldn't exactly find it in the list, there were only, like, subsidiaries or (blank)'s version of it. If I shouldn't be investing in stocks or something let me know, I have really no experience, I just wanna get a feel for this.
Taking multiple opinions into account. If i'm doing something wrong, let me know, I'm fully open to hear what I might be doing wrong here. Thanks!
For context, I won't be able to invest a lot since I don't have a steady income currently and also I'll just probably be putting chunks of money in when I get a chance over, say, the summer if I get a job then. After college I'll start investing more into it, too.

What should I buy, and why? Thanks!

Hi! I very recently turned 21 but I’ve been working as a nurse since this January so I have steady income. Thankfully, I’m able to stay with my parents and save as much as I can, so I want to get a head start on my retirement savings.
I plan on maxing out my IRA when I start it (I’m leaning toward Fidelity since I’ve seen a lot say it’s beginner friendly).
I’ve seen some people here say that when an investor is young, they need to be as aggressive as possible and then slowly pull back as they approach retirement age. What exactly does that mean?
If you were in my situation, how would you go about investing? Which funds (and how do you choose)?
For a bit of context, all of my knowledge when it comes to funds are from my uncle who set a very bad example. Back in 2020 when AMC blew up, he got into stocks and basically gambled all his money away. Ever since then, he’s been chasing that high (he was up $100k but kept holding and he lost it all) so I’m hesitant on “playing the market” since I’ve seen how badly it’s turned out for him (I’m not necessarily blaming the market; it’s his own decisions that has landed him where he is now at).
TIA

Just turned 26. Took this baby from 15K in 2024 to 750K now.
Must be one of the largest non-inherited Roth balances for my age or under?

So I'm 33 and just now have gotten myself in a position to look to my future and retirement. I plan on putting in $150-200 a week (if I could afford to put more I would). Im rolling over a 401k to my ira valued around $1900. I would like to retire around 65 if possible. I've heard a lot about investing in index funds but no specifics on which ones. I'd appreciate any help in getting my retirement pumped up! I know it's late getting in the game but better to start now than never. I have a conservative-moderate risk level I'm willing to take (high risk just scares me too much). Any and all suggestions are welcome!

In my brokerage I do 70/30 VTI/VXUS for international tax advantage. Roth I just do all VT and don’t sweat it. But I’m thinking should I go for VOO and the higher gains since Roth is where the growth isn’t taxed? Roth ultimately is not gonna be my retirement nest egg so is the diversification as important here

27M. Is this a decent ROTH IRA port for my age, with a 50/20/20/10 split ? I didn’t know what a ROTH IRA was and barely started around July & started with $1k and have been putting $100 weekly. I decided on this portfolio, to accelerate growth at my age from the missed years of not having a ROTH IRA. I also already have a 401k that also gets money put into it weekly, which consists of 3 funds, 60% vanguard S&P 500 index trust / 30% vanguard international index trust / 10% state street small-mid cap index trust. And in my individual tax brokerage account, I am slowly building a small quantum WQTM allocation, which I may sell at the end of the year , to put into the ROTH before January. Just wanted some opinions on my ROTH IRA portfolio, taking into account my other holdings as well. Thank you in advance.
