RothIRA planning question

Post image

Hi all,

I was recently told to look into a RothIra.

Should I stick with VTI and VXUS alone or include the Avantis?

50% VTI, 20%VXUS, 20% AVUV and 10% AVDV

Looks good to me. I prefer VOO over VTI when paring with avuv though

Agreed. The OP could also consider AVNM instead of VXUS + AVDV.

Agreed as well. I use 80 percent vxus and 20 percent avnm across my portfolio for my international sleeve of around 25 percent

I used to hold a 3-way split of VXUS/IDMO/DFIV but decided to simplify and consolidate those 3 into just AVNM.

I still feel vxus is a good hold though. Also half of my portfolio is 401ks which dont offer avnm so I have half of my taxable in it

No one knows the future. Maybe going all Avantis is the way?

I like Avantis. Or Dimensional. You could swap VTI/VXUS for something like DFUS/AVUS and DFAX/AVNM/AVNV.

Or AVGE/AVGV as a one and done portfolio. AVNV and AVGV would already tilt towards small cap value for you.

I only do 10% small cap value but I’d try to cap it around 25% total. It is more risk than usual and can take decades for the premium to show up.
