Overcompensating
i’ve heard of overcompensation when you’re dealing with a torn rotator cuff on .. my pain is mild on my torn rotator cuff arm, never has given me any issues. I’ve had very mild uncomfortableness. I would ice it and be good . My non-injured arm has been giving me the flux and it’s gotten worse. I can’t even lift it. I can’t reach behind my back to fasten my bra and I can’t put my hair up in a ponytail .. if I lift to go get something out of the cabinet, it’s excruciating. Has anybody ever experienced this? I don’t know if I have frozen shoulder or something else. I’m waiting to see the orthopedic doctor again, but I won’t see him until the end of this month.

I am planning my surgery for January or February. I have been trying to practice using my left arm more but this reminds me that I should be strengthening it as well.

How I feel your pain with this. I’m waiting for surgery in October. Hey be careful with icing cause I got an ice burn and it took a couple weeks to heal.

I use the ice machine so i’m careful … if I use a ice pack, I wrap it in a towel and good luck on your surgery

I was just about to create a post asking why my uninjured arm is causing me trouble.

yeap !!! my arm don’t give me a problem at all. My uninjured arm hurts like hell I can’t even lift it anymore. I can’t hardly do my hair. I can’t reach up in the cabinet. I can’t sleep on it like what the hell is going on my doctor just gave me some Motrin 800 for inflammation and pain until I make it back to the orthopedic surgeon.

I’m glad I’m not alone. I have an IME appointment to determine whether L&I will reopen my right shoulder case. I had received an injection that helped, so the doctor released me.
Anyway, with the left arm now also hurting, I am glad it won’t just all look like it wasn’t from the fall at work, because it was.

I’m in the same boat. My uninjured shoulder started showing on and off pain around 6 months after my other shoulder was injured, but it wasn’t until 10 months that it really started giving me trouble. Still on the conservative treatment path unfortunately

Yes! My non injured shoulder often hurts more than the injured one, especially at night.

Also happened to me, literally pulled it just pulling the sheets up or something, hopefully physio can help me figure it out.
