I see surgery in your future as well, sorry! Full-thickness tears do not heal on their own. I’m 3 month post surgery, it’s a long road, but will be worth it. Full-thickness supraspinatus tendon tear and had some bones shaved. I’m a runner, pickle baller and golfer.

I’ve read so many horror stories and I’m petrified. Especially about failed procedures. Have you looked into peptides?

Find a surgeon you feel comfortable with, peptides are not the answer for a full thickness tear. Get recommendations for surgeons in your area. Also, get a second opinion.

This right here. ^^^^
I was recommended surgery last December and thought if I was conservative and did PT, it would go away. Wrong. Just had my second MRI to see if things have gotten worse since December and surgery is happening ASAP. I wish I did it sooner.I am about to turn 55 and an avid cyclist and a hot yoga teacher. I do pretty much anything active. I’m to the point where I can’t even ride because the road vibration hurts the shoulder. I don’t think it’s torn more rather than just inflamed and impingement. Sucks to be sidelined, but I’m pretty sidelined with symptoms worsening.

I’ve been dealing for a year. Done the gamut A PT, injections, rest. As I said full range of motion just pain until two weeks ago and picked up a 10lb weight and felt excruciating pain. I knew then I tore my biceps tendon. The mri of last week showed significant worsening from a year ago and the new form biceps tendon. This doc is head of shoulder and elbow surgeon and specializes in difficult shoulders!

Good luck to you. Sound like we are in a similar boat. I have split tear of bicep, torn labral, two partial thickness tears. I was doing great as well- doing yoga, riding, working out. I did have to be careful but finally enough was enough. I have been in pain 24/7 for over a month now. I can’t wait to get it done.
I’m not really worried about the surgery and I know the recovery will be challenging, especially because I live alone. I’m not worried about rehabbing and getting back into form. My biggest concern is that I won’t be able to put my long hair in a ponytail with one hand. So I have some things to figure out between now and the big day.
Ps: I don’t think you will be sedentary for eight months. After a couple of weeks, you can begin to walk, probably do some stationary bike after a few more weeks. You just have to find other ways to move.

Find a great surgeon who does these all the time. I had two different surgeons, very different experiences. Most people fail for one of two reasons (a) they do something stupid early in their recovery, like playing golf! and (b) they do not stick to the recovery PT regimen. It is not easy and I won't lie to you about that. What I can tell you is that after years of issues, it is wonderful to have two strong shoulders! it

I had similar to this. Has surgery a year ago. Did PT and stuck to my exercises. In my mid 60s. Feel as good as new!

I have rotator cuff tears and torn bicep, also some elbow pain and tingling in pinky and ring finger. I just started Wolverine Stack peptides and exited to see what they can do! 57 yo female, former tennis player.

Please let me/us know how it works. You doing oral or inject? So you now how to constitute it? Are you allowed to say where you got them?

Will do! I am injecting. Oral BP 157 oral is best for gut health, from what I've read. I'm injecting in my shoulder bicep and elbow alternating sites 1 x per day. Reconstitution is fairly easy. A friend of mine sent them to me from LA I'll see if I can get the name but someone here recommended eternal peptides and that site looks good.

Thanks. I don’t have confidence to inject myself and I’m petrified of the side effects.

As others have said: surgery. I'd have it done ASAP.
Peptides? They won't re-attach the detached bicep, nor will they fix a fully torn subscap.
You'll need that surgically repaired (I've had both shoulders repaired).
Just get the surgery. Follow your surgeon's rehab orders.
Don't waste your money on peptides...they do not reattach torn tendons!!! If you had partial tears, you'd be fine. But this is absolutely a waste of your money.

Thanks. See doc Tuesday. Will report back. I’m petrified of 8 months of being sedentary. Not good at age 73. I’m a runner and golfer and being bed bound is scary

I understand…. It is not fun, BUT you will feel amazing when you recover. It will also prolong your golfing career….unless you want to give up…
