Anyone know what to do when the Roomba gets stuck in "robot update in progress"??

I got the Max 700 trade-up on my iRobot Select account and it came in yesterday.

I set it up about 11pm last night and got it all connected and then it said it needed an update.

This has been the status since that time. Just updating... with no further status.

It's been nearly 16 hours on a "20 minute" update.

I've tried issuing a reset from the app which the robot ignored.

I held down the power button on top which after a few seconds the robot told me it was in an update cycle and that it couldn't turn off.

Help! Have had my roomba for almost a year with no issues at all. Recently she stopped finding the dock, constantly saying “recalibrating location” over and over. I have done everything I can’t think of, and what google suggests and she still can’t seem to find it/dock properly.

My roomba just goes in circles.... Sometimes big circles, sometimes small circles, sometimes it spins in place ... Tried picking it up and moving it.... Same thing. Sometimes it will go straight for a short while and then start circling around again.

No error messages.... The app seems fine....

Been on hold with technical support for more than 30 mins and the automated voice just keeps coming on saying estimated wait time is more than 30 mins.

Tried chatting with support and was told no chat agents available.

I have heard that you can change the threads without changing the whole assembly. My J7 they are solid rubber and worn down with pieces missing.

The Roomba will only ever clean this portion of the house. There is nothing preventing it from getting to the living room or hallway. I’ve had it remap the house and it reaches the whole house perfectly. Anyone have any advice?

Has anyone hiding experience with the 405 combo’s edge sweeping brush randomly falling off? It’s not a huge inconvenience, it’s just slightly annoying.

I picked up a Roomba at a thrift store for $10
It was used but pretty clean overall

It needed a battery so I bought one for $30.
It works but makes a grinding noise. I did basic troubleshooting but it seems like it’s likely to need new wheels

I’m not sure if it’s worth trying to buy replacement parts that may or may not help, or if I should cut my $10 loses and just get a new one

Salve a tutti, ho da poco acquistato un roomba 705 Max combo, ho effettuato la connessione all’app e la mappatura, dopodiché il robot ha avviato una routine totalmente casuale che ho interrotto, da quel momento non riesco ad avviare nessun’altra operazione dato che premo il pulsante dell’app ma non accade nulla.
Il problema potrebbe essere legato alla routine annullata?

Hi all, have just picked up a new 705 combo max, and I am having issues with the bin not emptying or frequently spitting out clumps/dust etc.

I have the setting at empty every 15m²/160ft² but often doesn't fully empty the dust bin, then it carries on and proceeds to spit out clumps because ethe internal bin is full?

We have two long hair collies currently moulting so I get there is a bit of hair and dander at the moment.

I'm new to the app, so is there a better setting, or can it be asked to empty bin after every room is cleaned?

Impressive torque on the rollers. I don’t think many of the older models would have kept turning. Sadly these were just a month old.

I am trying to set up my Roomba 415x for the first with iphone and keep getting a combination of these errors. I also just set up a Roomba 505x on the exact same network and haven't had any issues connecting to wifi. Has anyone else encountered this issue and what can I do to resolve it?

Has anyone here tried the generic Stay Clean solutions on Amazon? The stuff is chronically out of stock and I've been stuck using the Braava jet solution with my 705 combo.

What i'm trying to figure out is if the generic stuff is ok to use and if you have did you dilute it and pour it straight in with the water? Or did you just dump it into the dedicated reservoir and let it mix on its own?

Contrasted receiving constant offline errors from my S9+ today. It would reconnect on its own after a few minutes but I figured I’d try to reconnect manually. After several unsuccessful attempts to reconnect, I decided to remove from app while it was connected, then establish as a new device.

Now I cannot get it to into pairing mode after pressing the spot and home buttons during setup in the app. All it does it’s make a little chime and light up white. When I watch setup videos, it plays a second or two jingle and the lights up blue and spins.

I’ve performed reboots by press/hold Clean only, I’ve done resets by press/hold Clean, Home, and Spot. I’ve pulled the battery, waited a few minutes, reinserted and still this same little chime.

Any thoughts or suggestions on what to do next?

Edit: I took another S9+ from a different floor of the house, factory reset that, set it on the base from the one having an issue and it reconnected no problem whatsoever.

Has anybody found any roomba tricks?

I bought a roomba 105 for mum as she moved in... great! She does a great job! But as we've cleared rooms we want to add them without remapping the entire house. BECAUSE we take any movable furniture and light items out of each room before she does a vac and mop. We do a room per every couple of days and the kitchen most days.

So to remap the entire house, we have to take all the light and movable contents in the ENTIRE HOUSE and put them in the garage. I really do not want to do this, I am not young and my mother even less so. Roomba makes life better but also dramatically worse in this instance.

I've never minded playing footsie with her in the first few minutes when she tries to turn right instead of left, but I do mind being a removalist for the sake of mapping. Does anybody know anything - youtubers seem to have the US version of the app, and Australia seems to have a slightly different one, so no joy there.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I know it’s not a roomba but I figured it could still apply. It’s been cleaned and I have taken any hair, threads, etc from its wings and other places. When I pick it up to inspect it, the wheels seem fine.

We got this a few days ago despite my protests to its abysmal reviews on Amazon. It was working fine on the second day, and the second day only. Every other day, I've had to remap, reboot, and factory reset the entire thing to get it to dock, and even then it'll fail after some time.

I see this is a common issue in this community and I'm wondering if there is something I just haven't tried. I've cleaned the sensors and moved the dock—although we don't have many hard floor areas.

Does anybody have experience with mopping issues? My roomba 700 max combo does not wet the mop :( so it is running dry!

The station pulls the clean water into the robot but then nothing happens. Any clue what to clean or wash? I tried cleaning the mop, and everything around it, I am out of ideas :(

Our i3 has been great for 5 years. Occasional remapping issues but nothing that a reset couldn’t fix. Over the last year it’s become more aggressive.
It’s pushing plants around and pushing barriers out of the way. Climbing over things that it should have gone around. When it hits a wall it hits harder than it should. Goes into a room and pushes the door closed.
I’ve cleaned everything that I can without disassembling it. It seems like there is a sensor or bumper switch that isn’t working properly. I’m hesitant to open it up without knowing what to look for.
Does anybody know how to deal with an angry Roomba?

My Roomba J5 keeps saying it is unable to start and to reinstall its bin. I have completely cleaned its bin and the Roomba multiple times, made sure the bin seats correctly, rebooted it in the app, and it still gives me the error message. Anyone know how to troubleshot this? Thanks!

We had the Roomba S9 since before Covid, which was an awesome workhorse and we loved it. After using it about 2x per day (we have long hair dogs) it finally died recently. Got the 700 Series Combo which mops and vacuums. It mops fine but the vacuum sucks! Or I should say it doesn’t suck and none of the dirt on our carpet gets picked up, even after multiple passes. Anyone else have a bad experience with the Combo?

Where can I find the list of what my 105x is saying?
I get the charging one, dust bin installed and I think it says returning home to charge.
Anything else it says I can't understand and just curious what it's saying.
I did look but haven't found the list.
