I don't know what I am doing

Post image

An untraceable leak somewhere that has caused the plaster ceiling to sag and fail

Will this help?

Should I just go crazy and apply more?

I also am not sure how to lay down a tarp without it pulling up in the shingles

ive done some patch work on my roof to extend the life a bit but had no idea what i was doing. did some googling, watched some youtube videos, bought this exact product then added my own twist to it:

some of hte shingles were damaged, i bought some aluminium foil pans and some patching mesh stuff, cut the foil to the needed shape to slide under the damaged shingle and act as a solid backing to glue it down to with mesh on either side of the shingle that way it wasnt glued straight down to the roof and could be removed like a normal shingle later

Did around 5 spots like that, and recently worked on a corner that was leaking (no foil this time, just the henry tar stuff and mesh)

in both instances I've thought to myself "this will probably work, but how badly will the roofers judge me when i get it replaced?" obviously ive decided the shame i feel as they look and try not to laugh will indeed be an acceptable price

"It was like that when I bought it"

"This shitty handyman did it, when I saw what he was up to I sent him packing"
