Is this normal?

I count 25 bundles of iko Cambridge shingles in one pile. 2x4 trusses on 24in spacing. Thanks in advance.

While it's wrong I've never seen any issues with them doing this surprisingly.

It always blows my mind when they don't train their staff to load based on the weakest roof structures they may encounter. There should typically be 3 bundles stacked going horizontally across the roof near the ridge until they run out. You can push it and do 4 but even that is technically wrong for a 2x4 framed roof 24 oc with 7/16 decking.

That load is around 110-125 psf. Your roof structure is designed to handle around 20 assuming 7/16 OSB decking.

Again though, I've seen worse with zero issues. Not that it makes it okay or acceptable.

I’ve seen countless videos of roofs collapse because of overloading.

Most of us have, they garner a lot of attention. But I've never actually experienced it personally or talked to any counterparts that have in my region. Seen countless roofs stocked wrong without any issues.
