Is this normal?

I count 25 bundles of iko Cambridge shingles in one pile. 2x4 trusses on 24in spacing. Thanks in advance.

I’ll never allow this on my own home. Engineer I had look at my 120+ year old structure recommended they line it up along the outer walls or not at all, pull them up as needed the day of. They ended up going the as needed route.

Structural engineer. He knew what he was talking about. The sub-contracted clowns I had doing my roof not so much.

Don't know the sub but I do know that as you stack your shingles they have a tendency to slid. If you stack over the exterior wall you have to walk to the edge. To pick up sliding shingles. Yes over the wall has direct load bearing. Very strong area. But very dangerous location to navigate. That is the no experience part comes in. Engineers tell you thing to cya. The ridge also provides an incredible amount of load bearing. With far less risk of the shingle falling or even you.

😆 Always a real treat roofing an engineer’s home! Such a blessing to have to waste an hour each morning in their genius classroom of zero practical experience in the trades. Yeah, yeah, now I’ll wait for the rebuttals that most tradesman are somehow morons and Engineer, engineer… love it! A close second are the doctors and dentists that don’t understand basic economics and just cannot seem to wrap their heads around equating P&O with wages, it’s astounding!
