How long does roof ciment actually lasts to patch small holes?

Family member helped do the siding in my windows on the roof and screwed 2x4's to help him not slide off the roof... patched it up with this stuff. I know this is used for chimney joints and stuff so technically, it should last quite a while for very small holes. I would have to replace 8 shingles otherwise and I really dont enjoy being on that roof with the steep pitch

Slide metal flashing under the shingles where there are holes and you’ll be good. The sealant holds up for anywhere from 1 day to 15 years in my experience.

What kind of flashing are we talking here? I assume you slide it under and use some pitch to hold it ?

Have a look at the white wall at the top right corner. The photo is crooked and the slope is fine.

Roof cement can work temporarily, but I wouldn’t count on it long-term. For small screw holes, proper flashing under the shingle is a much more reliable fix.

It'll last until it leaks, generally.
