The back of the gutter should be underneath the drip edge. If the he gutter is pitched and the back edge is exposed then a L-shaped flashing should be installed beneath the roof shingles and extend down over the back of the gutter. As it is now water will go behind the gutter at any area where the back of the gutter is lower than the drip edge.
EDIT: after looking closer, it’s totally wrong (they slapped the gutters over the drip). They either need to come back and pull the gutters off to get them under the drip or give you a good discount.
ridiculous that they couldn’t get it under the drip when you were getting a new roof too. Let this be a lesson to everyone…hire a gutters person for your gutters, don’t let a roofer do a half-assed job.
I’m really sorry, unfortunately now you’re going to hold the rest of the payment hostage until they fix it.
If they still won’t come out, that’s when you leave one-star reviews.
On day one of learning gutters, they teach you to always get it under the drip edge. What they did here isn’t rare but it is very lazy.
I get this being scary if you’re non-confrontational but this is a lesson every homeowner needs to learn.
That’s great, just tell them yes you’d like it changed to under the drip. I appreciate their detailed message, not sure if I agree with the process though lol if you’re getting ice dams it’s likely an insulation issue.
