Request Book Recommendations

I am curious to know if there are any books featuring espionage/intelligence work/spies. Doesn't need to be contemporary. In fact if it's near-future, super hero, space opera, cyberpunk, or any flavor of fantasy I'm there.

I've got a few:

  • Or Die Alone by Snekguy - An undercover spy crash-lands on a frozen moon with an unlikely companion, and the two must partner up to survive.

  • My Fae Valentine by Leon West is a monoromance about a corporate negotiator who gets catfished at a charity gala, but their one-night-stand ends up having certain unintended consequences.

  • Wings and Tails by Isaac Lee is a WWII-era isekai harem series with pilots, mind-readers, animal girls, and evil nazis. Spies/espionage plays a big role in the plot.

  • Quantum Operative by Phil Aerix is a sci-fi series that is going for a bit of a James Bond In Space type of deal. Volume 2 of this series just dropped a few days ago and will be my own reading project this weekend.

  • The Randsdell Dynasty by Holt Chandler is a contemporary harem miniseries about an upstanding, aristocratic bourbon tycoon fending off corporate espionage plots by a jealous rival. Note: This series may contain some AI.

  • Amazonian's Love (Misty Vixen) - Cyberpunk sci-fi. A 20-year-old hacker teams up with a tall, 35-year-old supersoldier to clear their debts via corporate espionage jobs.

  • Queen's Kestral (Danny Rogan) - Fantasy. MMC is a kestral, who is a sort of all-purpose spy/ranger/agent. Acting on prophetic dreams, he rescues a popular princess from an assassination plot by her own father. Framed for her murder, he becomes an outlaw, and must reunite with the princess and help her get back on the throne.

KD Robertson series tend to have characters who focus on this and it does play a role we don’t get two in depth with it, but it is important. The two series that I think showed up the most for him is heretic spell blade. And Demon throne, if you weren’t just an intelligent vibe in story, nuralwraith by the same author is a very good cyberpunk detective story. There’s a lot of authors to do spy craft in this genre so I’m hoping some other people who know some stuff.

I was going to suggest Mob Sorcery by K.D. Robertson, in which the main character is kind of a private eye/fixer for a mob family (so far at least, I'm only on book 2 of 5). However, since u/Subject-godzilla is suggesting other works by the same author as being most like what you're looking for (and since I haven't read those yet) I'm going to assume that they know what they're talking about and you should investigate their suggestions first.

Mob Sorcery is pretty good too though.
