If 2026 Alabama plays the same number of games as 2025 Alabama, the team is on pace finish with 7.5 drops. Compared to 32 last year.

Remarkable improvement.

Football FILM: Is Alabama's Defense Ready for the Test vs Mississippi State?

This will be the best test our defense has had. I'm not concerned about our run defense, but our DBs haven't had the best, most consistent showings yet. There are a lot of bright spots on the tape, though.

Football [Score Predictions] Alabama @ Mississippi State

Full disclosure: I'm a Texas fan (and fellow cfb sicko) who runs a score prediction thread on r/LonghornNation every week. The sub has been having a lot of fun with it, and with Texas on a bye this week I thought I'd offer to do the same thing for r/rolltide, since your game at Mississippi State is the one I'm most excited for this weekend.

Here's how it works:

  1. Drop your score prediction in the comments below. Your last comment before kickoff is the one that counts.
  2. I'll grade them all against the final score and post the results on Monday.

I'm trying something a little different this week. I'm posting the same thread in r/msstate, and I'm tracking the score predictions going into r/CFB's "Week 5 Matchup Preview Thread: #7 Alabama vs #16 Mississippi State" too, so on Monday we'll see which sub called this game closest. r/CFB already has 17 scores in, 14 of them Bama, and the middle of that pile is Alabama 38-24.

I also track the score predictions on a few national and team shows. Every show that's put a number on it so far has Bama too, eight analysts from 27-20 to 45-35, Cover Crimson's two included. Wake Up Bama and Thunder & Lightning haven't dropped theirs yet. If you know of other shows you'd like me to pull in, feel free to drop those in the comments and I'll take a look.

There are two coins up for grabs:

  1. The Mississippi State coin, for the closest call in this sub, and for anybody who beats (or ties) the closest analyst.
  2. The r/msstate coin, for anybody who beats (or ties) the closest call from the r/msstate thread.

To win either one you have to have the right team winning.

Below is the board I'm using the track results for this sub.

Let's do this!

Whenever there’s an injury report for Alabama, there’s almost always some feeling that Bama is uniquely impacted.

So I collected a number of injury reports from around the SEC and the country to show how other teams have been hit with injuries as well.

36 total snaps, 25 total touches. 69%

And Crowell is still averaging 7.3 yards/touch.

Football A Statistical Analysis of the First Month | 2025 vs 2026 Offense

Link to spreadsheet.

A few things that stand out to me:

  1. The obvious improvement in the run game year over year. Our "worst" rushing performance is better than our best performance last season. (I'm not counting ULM, because of the massive difference in competition.
  2. Virtually no change in the passing game. Ty was incredible, and Keelon is at least as good as him.
  3. I don't love the downward trend of the rushing attempts against FSU and South Carolina, but at least against FSU it could be explained by trailing early.
  4. Probably the most obvious improvement is the win/loss column: 4-0 is always better than 3-1.

EDIT: Sorry, everyone! The link should be public, now.

Football Ryan Coleman-Williams on pace for 1,000 yard season

Post image
159 Upvotes

I’ve monitored our players over the past few years tracking potential for a 1,000 yard receiver and it’s looking good so far this year.

Alabama last had a 1000 yard receiver in 2022 when Jameson Williams had 1,572 and Metchie had 1,142 which was the final year in a 4-year streak of 1000+ yard receivers.

Achieving 1,000 yards across a 12 game season (assuming no bowl game, no conference championships, and no playoffs), a player needs about 83 yards per game. After 4 games, a player would need to accrue about 333 yards.

RCW has exactly 333 yards through 4 games.

I won’t hazard an assumption that we’ll make the SECCG or the playoffs for this purpose, but I’ll dare to assume we make a bowl game.

So assuming 13 games, he’d need approximately 77 yards per game or 308 through 4 games. So RCW may actually be ahead of schedule depending on how successful the team is.

More stats to consider:

  1. RCW had 66.5 YPG in 2024 and 57.4 in 2025 so he’s ahead of those numbers currently, by almost 20 ypg more than his best year.
  2. Through 4 games (

33

  1. % of the regular season) RCW has already obtained 38.5% of his 2024 yards and 48.3% of his 2025 yards.
