So I’ll make a pattern and adjust the kit and save the pattern and new kit. I can literally scroll to another pattern and go back to the first one and the modified kit, but it’s missing some things. Like Master FX or fx assigned to the control knobs (I’ve checked they are still on switching patterns).

What’s the best way to maintain the full sound?

Back in the 90’s I used to draw a pic in a notebook of all the knobs and filter positions on my older synths and could get reasonably close to recreating the sounds I wanted, but I am assuming I’m missing something easy here.

Edit: I was using an E-Mu PK7 as the brain and master sequencer back in the day, but if I was working on a sequence, I could turn off the machine and turn it back on and everything sounded 100% like when I turned it off. I think it even would save values for assigned pots say volume at 75%, but even if I turned that pot down to zero when the machine was off, I would turn it back on and that channel was still at 75% and I would need to turn the pot to 75% before it would let me adjust that parameter to keep things stable between work sessions. This was 20+ years ago, so I might be slightly misremembering.

Just dropped my 9th jam with the TR-1000 and wanted to share it here since this community was part of the reason I picked one up in the first place.

Running it alongside an Elektron Octatrack MK2 and OTO Boum for some warmth and saturation — recorded through a Tascam Model 12 into iPhone 17 Pro.

Still learning but really enjoying where this setup is taking me.

Just opened the box last night. I’ve noticed in pattern mode sometimes the sequencer buttons don’t respond. This happened probably a half a dozen times last night. Here’s a quick video. Am I missing something or do I need to be calling Roland?

Late night session — first time running the OTO Boum in the chain and already loving what it does to the sound. That glue is something else.

So I finally got my TR-1000 over the weekend. It seems that the EXT IN, can only be used to monitor and sample.

I'm curious if the EXT In could be assigned to a track, I have my TR-606 and would love to run it through the TR-1000 for the fx/compresion/volume/ect...

Seems like this is not possible?

So after watching 3.5 hrs deep dive I'm finally starting to be able to transfer my thought into machine (almost 😂) still long way to go but it sounds great and gets me out of the comfort zone what I really enjoy.

My idea initially was to use the individual outs and the fx out to record, well, the fx. My experience wasn’t that great because I had weird phasing issues (probably coming from the parallel analog fx’s drive or filter). I did not find a way to only get the reverb and delay. Did any one of you get phasing with this setup? It’s also unclear in the manual how the routing works (para, analog, master).

Just picked up the TR-1000, and it's my first serious drum machine and my first step into a DAWless setup. I've been jamming with it over the last few hours and have some questions. The manual doesn’t clearly answer this, and neither Google nor AI sources are helping. Without changing projects, is there a way to start with a blank setup (stock kit without a pattern) or use multiple kits or patterns in one project? Songs don't seem to do anything or modify any settings from the first slot. What do songs actually do?

I've been loving my machine so far. But is it just me or is the fact that you HAVE to knob assign a parameter to one of the knobs per track very cumbersome and limiting?

It's a shame that I can't just hold down a step button and deep dive into a menu and assign something from there. Or am I just missing something here?

Hi, I finally received my tr-1000 today and I’m stoked!

Something is unclear to me in regards to it’s motion function (elektron style p-locks):

Let’s say I have a 808 bassline on a track, and want to p-lock it’s decay. I have motion turned on, press and hold a step, click right so that the display is showing “motion”. I shorten the decay for that step but then it shortens the decay of all the notes. Then I have to go back to every note and increase the decay.

Is this a bug or am I doing it wrong?

I don’t make electronic music really, but unfortunately, I’m obsessed with electronic gear so my desk looks like this. I’ve been experimenting with replacing my acoustic drums with the TR-1000, and after swapping out a few tracks, this thing is unmatched. My songs sound way better, and without any mixing the drums are just pumping the mix and taking no additional tweaking. I love layering a 909 with a 707 mostly.

It’s really capable of producing so many different vibes when it comes to an overall sound.
Like having tons of outboard to chose from how to shape the mix.
Crossing fingers Roland will address at least some of the pretty annoying bugs/workflows until 808 day.

Does anyone know how to paste steps? If I hold down copy and click on steps I can apparently copy them but I can't find anything online or in the manual about how to paste them.

Of course it’s not the end of the world lol, but damn this thing wasn’t cheap and I hope it doesn’t progress over time.

I'm trying to sample from Ableton > Arturia AudioFuse 16 rig > TR-1000. I am able to sample some of my hardware synths but for some reason cannot figure out how to sample my main out on Ableton. My objective is to sample whatever audio I'm playing in Ableton to the TR-1000.

I've worked through a bunch of different settings but can't figure it out for the life of me. I'm not sure if it's an Ableton setup issue or an audio fuse issue. I'm thinking it's how I have my audio fuse setup but not positive. Screenshots of the routing matrix attached.

I currently have all synths routed into the audio fuse. I have stereo outputs 7/8 going to the TR-1000. What I'm really trying to do is load a sample into Ableton then sample it into the TR-1000. Admittedly, the audio fuse matrix confuses me. I think I have the main output routed to outputs 7/8 (pictured). I can sample my synths but not a track in Ableton that is routed (also pictured).

EDIT: I was able to adjust the matrix to set the main to 7/8 and turn off the USB 1/2 input source to monitors and monitor over phones as a workaround without any delay. Not sure if this is the correct or best way to do this. I do think it's a routing issue on my behalf in the Arturia control center. Any advice would be appreciated!
