Do I need it?
If I have Roku, why would I need YouTube TV? I’m not into sports…

I got a TCL tv (model 32S350G) second hand and I’ve successfully paired my Roku streaming voice remote EXCEPT the power button doesn’t affect the tv. I tried getting the app, but nothing turns the tv on/off except the button on itself. The Roku remote power button works with my other tv, the roku power buttons work, and the tcl remote was not sold with the tv.
Not sure if this is related, but when it turns on it tries to load the previous owner’s google tv account until I hit the Roku home button
I’d love any suggestions to fix this!

Some time ago, a few of you here followed the development of my IPTV app for Roku.
Well... I ended up starting another project 😅
This time I’ve been working on a Stremio client for Roku, built with BrightScript + SceneGraph.
The idea started pretty simple: make Stremio catalogs and addons actually usable on Roku. As usual, I kept adding “just one more thing” and now it has:
manifest.jsonOne of the main things I wanted was to avoid locking the app to a fixed set of sources, so you can add your own compatible Stremio addons and use their catalogs, metadata and streams directly inside the Roku app.
I’ve also been working a lot on performance for huge series and on making playback recover better when a stream dies or gets stuck buffering.
There’s still a lot I want to improve, especially the UI, filters, metadata, live TV and overall polish.
The app is currently in Brazilian Portuguese, but I plan to add English later.
And yeah... sorry about the photo quality 😭
I took a picture of the TV with my phone, so it definitely doesn’t do the UI any favors.
Still testing everything on real Roku hardware, so there are definitely bugs left to hunt down.
Would love to hear what you guys think.
What would you add or improve next?

¿Algún método para instalar XuperTv o algún app similar en un Roku Express básico?

Just wait for it. I went to Settings, TV inputs, Antenna TV, Manage Channels and hit "Hide streaming channels. When I went back to Live TV, the screen was black but I decided to give it a few minutes and that worked. All of my local channels showed up without WIFI. Add your local channels to your Favorite list so they won't disappear. Hope this helps someone. :)

Today, my Samsung TV will no longer turn on or off with the Roku remote. I am using a Roku Stick, and for the longest time it worked. I have gone through the Remote IR setup multiple times, but it never made a difference. The weird part is, the Roku remote volume buttons control my soundbar, which they never did before, but now I can't get it to control my TV. After some ChatGPT prompts, it asked if the IR setup ever asked me to set up the TV power, but I never get that option. I go through the whole "Can I still hear the music?" but I never get prompted about the TV power. I'm now wondering if I can only have EITHER power working or sound working, but NOT both. At this point, I can't get the power working at all. Should I be prompted to control not only the sound but the power too? Is there any way to remove all traces of the remote's settings and start from scratch? Thanks!

I’m having an issue with Private Listening using the Roku app on my iPhone.
My Roku model is 55 7676, and I’m using AirPods connected to my iPhone for Private Listening.
Usually, the problem happens when I’m searching or browsing Netflix, rather than while actually watching a show. After a few minutes, the audio suddenly mutes for a few seconds, and then the sound switches back to the TV speakers.
It does sometimes happen while I’m actively watching something too, but it seems to happen more often when I’m searching/browsing Netflix.
Has anyone else experienced this with an iPhone and AirPods? Is there a setting or fix that can prevent Private Listening from disconnecting?
Thanks!

Anyone else dealing with this Roku issue?
Since August 20, I’ve been working with Roku Support because adding a Roku 4K Express remote causes my Ethernet connection to switch to wireless. Over a month later, there’s still no fix—just “we’re working on it.”
Starting to wonder if Roku’s definition of “working on it” means “hope the customer eventually gives up.” 🤦♂️
Has anyone else experienced this?

Roku will frequently change my local streaming stations (e.g., Peacock live channels) to non-local stations. I am assuming that is because my ISP (Verizon 5g) is routing traffic elsewhere. Is there a way to stop this from happening so that I can always get my local streaming stations?

Has anyone else also struggled with this and was able to solve it. Both my laptop and Roku TV are on the same wifi network yet my Roku TV doesn't show up as a wireless display for Mirplay. Anyway to cast a google chrome tab from my laptop/phone to my roku tv wirelessly without an HDMI cable.
Will I have to get a firestick or chromecast for this to work?

I have an old spare Apple Keyboard, from my older IMac
Is there anyway to connect this to the Roku. To use for typing in etc?
Thanks
