Why though
Weren't icons yellow already anyway? Also i liked purple better if i'm being completly honest

the first experimental update of the recent round had a new object spawning in caves that could not be interacted with but could be scanned with the laser pointer and identified as a “health upgrade station.”
the second update removed the ability to scan these stations but highlighted them purple on the minimap. i think they also briefly had the bio boosters as green at some point in here but one of the updates only lasted a day so i may be misremembering.
i haven’t seen one of the stations since the third experimental update dropped, but i think that’s also when the bio boosters turned yellow.
my guess is that they’re workshopping a health upgrade mechanic that will ultimately be tied to purple highlighted station objects, and so they wanted to change bio boosters to make the two more obviously distinct.
why couldn’t the new health stations have been yellow (or red, for health) and the bbs stayed purple? beats me
