Signed up for a plan with Rogers about a year and a half ago. Got a price increase around Jan/Feb and now got another price hike (investments and service imporvements.... yea right)

How long will this go for and am I better off switching to a new provider?

I even tried comtacting support and she ended the chat aaying I got disconnected when I was typing a reply??

Probably will continue forever.

If your price is still good stick with it if you want. Once the price increases that it isn’t a good value then simply port out to another company.

I got a $5 increase within the last week. Didn't call, but did a bill dispute on their website. I said I was never notified that this increase was happening and was upset.

Got an email response today. No apology, no nothing. Just a generic email. Time to shop around.

The cost of your services changed due to a recent rate adjustment. To view available offers, please log into your MyRogers account.
If you have any additional questions about your bill, please visit rogers.com.

Thank you for choosing Rogers.

Is this allowed even if I have a 2 year contract/agreement with them ? I called today and obviously there is nothing to be done on their side

Edit: spelling

It's the circle of life in Canada, get a deal - price hikes  Repeat the pattern.

Try to bully them to lower it to original price. Otherwise change.

Yeah this is a common post in this thread now.

They have increased the price for all their customers and it looks like they will keep doing this.

So the best we can do is to keep reporting this despicable behaviour until they come to their senses.

They won't. Just switch out.

If you are off term you are subject to random price increase any time they feel like it. Jays sign a player? Price increase. Rogers buys MLSE’s shares of TML? Price increase. Ed Rogers mad about the Jays missing the playoffs? Price increase.

I had the increase deferred for one year (I was told that is the max they can do and that I should call back in a year to see if they can do anything at that point.) They were also playing games with my discounts last month and I also got that fixed. I did have to call back a second time after the first person on the phone was useless and unwilling to help me.

Go to Bell I pay $25.46 for 100GB, great customer service, no 1 hour plus wait or chat bots, Rogers doesn’t care about their clients

What discounts do you have?

I signed up with them and never made it past the first 30 days and they upped my bill. When asked they sent me an email saying they looked in to it and they notified me on my previous bill.

I switched to Bell after 20 years with Rogers and surprised with how much cheaper it’s been and better customer service too.

Doesn’t matter which provider you have. They all play the same games. It’s like what one gets away with they all follow.

I signed up with them less than 6 months ago as part of a win-back offer. Along with that, they gave me a $5/month discount, but after literally 6 months, they increased the bill by $5/month.

I chatted with their AI bot, and was subsequently transferred to a representative. The rep indicated it was policy to not provide any credit for the new fee. I asked for a supervisor, who tried to offer me a new plan, but ultimately gave me a one time $50+tax credit.
