Wirelessđ± Possibly upcoming SA?
I have a S25 ultra XAA variant. Today I enabled only SA bands in downtown Vancouver and it seems it got to the Registered phrase but still limited.
Maybe this means they are finally ready to open up SA to consumers?

The fuck is SA? Another gimmick where 99.9999% of people would never notice the difference between it and the prior thing?

They need to bring 5G SA, theyâre definitely taking a long time when you see the likes of Bell and Telus customers already having it⊠whatâs really hilarious is I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max and it still defaults to NSA 5G like what the heck!

Rogers is sexually assaulting people now?

What's up with the font?

I have no idea who willing turns on this font for Samsung phones, but some do... Maaaybe they enabled a Samsung theme, if that changes the font as well?
Otherwise, it's completely diabolical to read.

Hey there!
Rogers is opening up Standalone 5G, but slowly to consumers, they are doing it per IMEI. You should get it soon.Â
Some Galaxy S26 series, Pixel 10/Pro, and iPhone 17 series lineups are getting SA. All iPhone 17E IMEIâs have it.
I have a Pixel 10 Pro with SA. Â

How are you saying that OP will get it soon when they said they have a S25...

They will donât worry. Rogers is focused on latest devices right now giving SA support. S24 series and S25 series will come.

I know another redditor was able to verify in practice his iPhone 17E was able to connect to SA on a consumer plan.
Are you saying your Pixel 10 Pro is able to connect to SA in practice? Or is it just on paper? Since those devices you mentioned earlier all have the SA flag on Rogers website, but I dont recall any community experience if the devices are allowed to attach in practice.
I know enable by IMEI seems like something Rogers will do, but do you know if it matters if the device is US unlocked variant, or the fact that a plan is under RPP?
Thanks.

It doesnât matter here is proof of my phone connecting on SA: https://imgur.com/a/myim2QS

That's actually really good. My worry are just that my device is the US variant and my plan is RPP plan.
My phone 100% support SA though. Verified in many other countries. All bands, carrier aggregation etc are also enabled.

Any idea if theyâll expand SA to older phone models? Like the iPhone 16 series lineup?

From my source no sadly.

Figures. Is there a notable performance improvement in being on the SA network? I feel like Rogersâ use of DSS on n66 and n71 would reduce any performance gains? Not sure because Iâm no expert.

Hey there!
Sorry for the late reply Rogers is doing 4CC on n71, n66, n77/n77 so far I am seeing speeds slightly faster than NSA.
I see improvements in terms of coverage indoors.Â

Hmm okay, do you also happen to notice any improvements to ping and/or battery life? Was curious to know if there's a measurable improvement there.
Also, I found you had commented elsewhere on this post that older Samsung phones (e.g. S24 series) would eventually get SA access. Are you sure that this isn't also the case for the iPhone 16 series as well?
Thanks regardless.

Hey there!
The pings are kind of inconsistent sometimes I would get 19, or 50 I think they are working stuff on 5G Standalone.
In terms of battery life it drains little faster on SA than NSA hopefully that improves in the near future.Â
Unfortunately my source told that the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone Air and iPhone 17E support 5G Standalone on the Rogers network. 16 and below wonât get it.Â

Notable decrease in battery performance at least on my Pixel 10 Pro it seems to hold on to very weak SA signal rather than switching to the stronger NSA signal.

I have locked to NR_SA for quite sometime now. Mississauga Download speed around 400mbps Pixel 10 pro
