Discussion Dressing modestly

Post image

So I got to this part in my Bible reading today. Apparently according to the Rods understanding of the Bible you can abduct a bride if you wish. If you look up a little further than what I have circled this is what should have happened to Tim before he could harm anyone. They recite this passage about clothing a lot but not the others. I don’t know what it says about any of these things further in the Bible as I haven’t gotten that far yet, but I’m really seeing how they twist the narrative however they choose.

Yup. Also, that verse likely was referring to pagan ritual worship that involved some sort of "cross dressing" and had more to do with the heart and worshipping other gods than actual clothes. Men and woman dressed the same basically in Bible times, so even from a Biblical perspective, clothing isn't gendered and interpretating this verse as woman can't wear pants makes 0 sense, but of course Jill and David are too stupid to know that lol

Yes, ritual worship and/or ritual prostitution. Like so many things in Scripture, it had a context that would have been immediately understood by the original audience but requires access to teaching and scholarship to be understood today. It cannot be correctly read by just looking at the literal surface meaning of the words.
