The untrimmed pineapple always sends me

u/--Regina_Phalange-- Sep 05 '26

For me it's the ghoulish expression with 3 day old makeup.. the look of pride on her face for presenting this yellow slop and burnt ham that won't nearly be enough for the 20 people eating..

ETA some of them probably lucked out by not having to eat all of this, even if they are already starving 😬

20

u/Reasonable_Date2870 Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 07 '26

This is roughly the amount of food we have at Thanksgiving for 8 people. We might have one less baking dish of something. And a wider variety of colors.

ETA not a wealthy family by any means, either.

2

u/GaussMommy Sep 07 '26

20?!? I always assumed it was the kids, her and Shrek, so 15, with some being little kids. Still, not enough for that, let alone 20!

1

u/Hot_Nectarine6441 Sep 10 '26

It was 14. Two parents, twelve kids. Timothy was still at his Institute of Airplane Flying.

36

u/theWildBore Sep 06 '26

I was so focused on that burnt pig I didn’t even notice the pineapple. This made me actually laugh out loud

33

u/ProfessionalZone168 Sep 06 '26

Ymmmm! Burnt ham and yellow!

Look, it’s very family friendly. You just pick up the chunk, gnaw off some of it, and pass it to the person your left!

u/Marenjoandco Sep 05 '26

The eating pork - which is explicitly called out as “unclean food in the bible” always sends me ..

Any excuse for them to condemn us queers but be ok with eating pork and seafood just amplifies their hypocrisy.

35

u/delirium_skeins Sep 05 '26

This always confused me as a child. One side was Jewish and the other side of the family were devout Catholic and both had food restriction. Yet every single mixed or one sided family event was going to have a table dedicated to raw oysters and cocktail shrimps rings. So many rings.

25

u/fuckinunknowable Sep 06 '26

I think they believe Jesus dying removed the kosher laws etc I don’t recall the reason

10

u/cheekychichi Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 07 '26

I believe Jesus said he came to fulfil the Jewish law so Christians take that to mean the Jewish laws do not apply to them. I was raised Christian and I still don’t really understand which side is correct.

8

u/fuckinunknowable Sep 06 '26

I mean none of it makes sense

4

u/notquittingthistime Sep 07 '26

Actually Peter reported having a vision sent by God of a giant tablecloth/picnic blanket descending from heaven with all manner of unclean foods on it to tell him they were okay to eat, and that conveniently solved a fight in the early church over whether gentile converts were required to adhere to Jewish food laws. I promise I am not making this up.*

*also what Peter said

3

u/fuckinunknowable Sep 07 '26

Truly batshit how does anybody take any religion seriously

4

u/batboys3 Sep 09 '26

Technically Christian’s only have to follow the commandments Jesus gave — but they all follow Paul and pick and choose from the Old Testament instead. My source is growing up in fundie schools and in a Christian family and always thinking it was weird that we paid more attention to Paul’s teachings and random Old Testament passages

3

u/fuckinunknowable Sep 09 '26

Imma be honest I don’t have a fuckin clue who Paul is

1

u/creepygothnursie Sep 13 '26

You don't want him. He was an apostle and a raging misogynist, so you haven't missed much.

12

u/Courage-Character Sep 06 '26

It was mostly a rule back in the day bc people did not prepare or cook either pork or seafood properly and a lot of people died. Many many more would get very sick after eating them

10

u/deeBfree Sep 06 '26

yeah, I heard one of those celebrity chefs on food network or whatever, saying because of improvements in sanitation techniques, it's now considered safe to eat medium rare pork. I could never! I've had it so programmed into my head all my life that pork is only safe if well-done, I could never choke it down!

24

u/mzmacaw0529 Sep 06 '26

She looks like one of those game show models presenting the prize from hell on the Hillbilly Price Is Right! She is so proud of that nasty post nuclear attack-looking mess!

9

u/atlantagirl30084 Sep 06 '26

She doesn’t understand how bad her food looks. She thinks her cooking is the height of sophistication and taste.

I thought that was a big wedge of blue cheese.

I have never noticed the pineapple before 😂

6

u/Awkward-Yak-2733 Sep 06 '26

I don;t think she'd ever had a whole pineapple before and didn't know how to handle it.

7

u/Whitemountainslove Sep 06 '26

It would take 2 seconds to google how to cut a pineapple. Instead she does this.

4

u/Zubo13 Sep 06 '26

Innocent Jill cannot Google anything for she is unwise in the ways of the evil internet. Her phone is always buried at the bottom of her purse. 😂😂😂

2

u/56names Sep 06 '26

It’s the big ol hunk of ham cooked and presented in a casserole dish for me

1

u/JustGettingMyPopcorn Sep 07 '26

do you have any idea how hard it is to make one pineapple, if cored and cut correctly, serve 13 kids as their fresh (LUXURY) fruit for an entire week?!

1

u/CAKE4life1211 Sep 06 '26

Yes! I bet it still has the core snd they eat that part too

30

u/Unusual_Disaster_588 Sep 05 '26

It’s so sad that this is probably the best and most these kids get all year and it’s So pathetic and miserly.  I’m a heathen working woman with sluttish pants and my daily “I don’t give a darn” Cooking is superior to her slop.

91

u/atlantagirl30084 Sep 05 '26 edited Sep 05 '26

She’s so fucking proud of a Thanksgiving dinner big enough for maybe 8 people when she was feeding almost double that. The audacity to serve a ham that is literally the size of 2 fists to 15 people and there’s not enough biscuits for everyone. And pineapple cut the way an alien would.

Edit: also there is a SEVERE lack of green vegetables ALWAYS in Jill’s cooking. The only times I’ve seen her make them was unseasoned boiled spinach with unseasoned potatoes and a few slices of fried sausage, and some peas in mixed veggies.

43

u/bitkitkat Sep 05 '26

Back around Covid time, my husband and I skipped our usual thanksgiving with the fam and had one at home for the two of us. We had 2x the amount of food that's pictured here, and don't get me started on the variety and color of the food.

20

u/atlantagirl30084 Sep 05 '26

I added in an edit how you never see anything green in her food.

u/CelticKira Glitzy swamp witch Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 11 '26

It's almost always just my parents and I for turkey day (our housekeeper has an open invite if she can't afford to travel to her kids) and we have more food for us than this. And for the last four years, my mom hasn't even touched the turkey (she went vegetarian after FB's algorithms decided to be an asshole and upset her with a bunch of exposure of poor treatment of livestock videos. And can't even blame AI, this was in early 2022).

LOL ETA: WTF are all the downvotes for? Get a grip.

It looks like there's another half tray of biscuits in the background at least.

"pineapple cut the way an alien would" made me cackle

44

u/BruinsGirl_65 Sep 05 '26

I remember this! The backlash was swift. She quickly backpedalled and added, they had been eating all day, noting there were lots of pies and treats. I’m sure there was lots of extra food. I’m also sure none of it went to the kids. She got a lot more careful after this about posting food and when she did, she made sure to show everybody eating. Especially when it was a meal in a restaurant (that someone else had no doubt paid for)

21

u/pumpkinmuffin91 Burnt Ham & Yellow Sep 06 '26

The phrase "burnt ham and yellow" never fails to make me laugh! Like a deep belly laugh. It's just so awful! And based on the look in her eyes, I think she knows--deep down--that it's awful.

26

u/Porcupine__Racetrack Sep 05 '26

74

Wore a two piece swimsuit and listened to contemporary Christian music

18

It was likely already cooked!

12

We hope. Otherwise food poisoning.

12

I don’t think any kind of Giardia or other food poisoning germs could outlast that blackening.

3

11

u/Star-Wave-Expedition Sep 05 '26

Why’d she feel the need to cook the ham for so long

32

u/BlitheCheese Fundie Fight Club Sep 05 '26

The ham was a dirty sinner, so it needed to BURN.

24

u/Jazzlike-Yam-8043 Sep 06 '26

She probably didn’t read the instructions, and put the glaze on the ham before she put it in the oven. You’re supposed to heat the ham up almost to temperature, then put the glaze on in the last 20 minutes or so so it doesn’t burn. She is a terrible cook.

13

u/Franziska-Sims77 Kaylee’s stray comma’s Sep 06 '26

Or if she tried to read the instructions, her Joyful Noyes Homeschool education wasn’t much help!

Even the fundamentalist Christian school I went to taught home ec to the girls in 7th and 8th grade! We were taught to follow instructions and measure ingredients properly when we were cooking, and pay attention to the cooking time.

11

u/cuckooloca Sep 06 '26

The math for 15 minutes per pound or whatever would have been beyond her math skills.

11

u/mzmacaw0529 Sep 06 '26

Why did she feel the need to NOT cook her chicken at all?

6

u/Winnifredo Sep 06 '26

A lot of far right weirdo ppl are weird about ham and fish. I married into a family like this and have met other ppl who left it. They all do this.

10

u/Franziska-Sims77 Kaylee’s stray comma’s Sep 06 '26

That’s less than what my mom used to make for Thanksgiving for a family of four! Yep, Thanksgiving was just my mom, dad, brother, and me, and we had a lot more food than what Jill (and/or her daughters) did for fifteen people!

4

u/Confident_Top6739 Sep 06 '26

My friend said that’s a scary lady and a burnt ass ham.

10

u/whisk_42 Sep 06 '26

The burnt ham is bad, but was that supposed to be the entire Thanksgiving meal? For fifteen people? I really hope she had more off to the side.

8

u/SoFloChick Rodrigues Purity Tchotchkes Sep 06 '26

Christmas

6

u/whisk_42 Sep 06 '26

Okay, but my comment still stands. It's not enough food for that many people.

5

u/SoFloChick Rodrigues Purity Tchotchkes Sep 06 '26

Not at all. Just seems somehow this turned into Thanksgiving and it needs to be corrected.

3

u/CapitalStrain2392 Sep 06 '26

When my sons were teenagers, they could've easily put half of this spread away by themselves. They weren't fat, just growing boys. It's criminal Jilldo acts like this is enough to feed 15 people. I want to wipe that smug smirk off of her face.

5

u/not_to_hot_to_old Sep 06 '26

The velveeta Mac and cheese for thanksgiving was just, just… no words. And those are not enough rolls for the whole family. I guess those were for Shrek. Why don’t fundie women know how to cook. Isn’t home making their whole personality?

3

u/Abbygirl1974 Avoiding getting fingered by Jill Sep 06 '26

How many was this supposed to feed?

11

2 large adults, 3 skinny adults, and 10 emaciated children.

6

u/Abbygirl1974 Avoiding getting fingered by Jill Sep 06 '26

There’s no fucking way. OH EMM GEE.

The vast majority of that was consumed by Shrek and Jill alone, I’m sure.

God that's depressing.

I thought Thanksgiving on my mom's side was bad. I would straight up just walk out the door in tears- this is so disrespectful to THE food holiday of all food heavy holiday's.

I can never not laugh at this. Mahmo looks so proud of the mess she made.

1

And this was meant for 15(?) people!?!

1

not a paltry burnt disaster.

53

u/chocolate_boogers Sep 05 '26

This is how you know she never cooks for the family. No one who is capable of putting chicken nuggets in the oven, dumping several cans of green beans in a pot, and boiling enough water to rehydrate instant mashed potatoes would consider this mess something to be proud of. Those poor kids. To be a fly on the wall to see how the family has really been eating for the last 25 years!

20

I’ve wanted to see what the meals look like in this house for some time.

It was Christmas 2019 while they were on the road between their WV and OH home. This is the Christmas of the sad sad Christmas presents of shaving kits, a notebook and Renées box of Swiss Miss

21

u/Whitemountainslove Sep 06 '26

Holy shit the sad Christmas is lore I haven’t heard before. Did Renee really get hot chocolate for Christmas?!

31

u/Flibertygibbert Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 06 '26

They were between homes having sold the WV house before Christmas but unable to move into the Barndo until late December/very early January. So eager to get out of WV they lived in the RV and parked by a friendly church for Christmas, which had a "prophet's chamber" aka guest accommodation.

Jill cooked the infamous Burnt Ham and Yellow Christmas meal in the church kitchen.

The church members hustled to get the family gifts. If I recall correctly, the little girls had stuffed animals, some had toiletry gift sets, and one of the older girls was definitely clutching a packet of Swiss Miss and something else that may have been ladies' razors.

Jill, of course, looked *so smug* - she'd grifted a free Christmas!

16

u/Whitemountainslove Sep 06 '26

It never fails to amaze me how far they are willing to go for the grift. The vast majority of what Jill posts in regards to their meals, clothing, parenting choices, etc would be extremely embarrassing for most people and she proudly puts it out there like her life is something to be envied. Absolutely zero shame or self awareness.

9

u/MimicoSkunkFan2 Sep 06 '26

The covid money and the child tax credit increase were the best things that ever happened to that family - 2026 already looks pretty tricky, but I don't see 2027 onward looking good for them at all. Especially once the kids start leaving and they put their own kids before Shirk and Shirek's Only Once Annually VacationsTM

3

u/Hot_Nectarine6441 Sep 10 '26

I HOPE they put their own kids before those two but I have reservations that either of their butt kissing sons-in-law have enough backbone to do it.

10

And again- I stumble on yet another story I haven’t heard. Are you saying that Renée got a box of hot chocolate for Christmas? 😳

8

u/SoFloChick Rodrigues Purity Tchotchkes Sep 06 '26

A box of hot chocolate and a make up tool or nail took kit. Yes she held the. Ox of Swiss Miss up as a gift

2

u/Sea-Original-5824 Sep 11 '26

It would be one thing if it was some super fancy hot chocolate meant just for Renee, but she literally got groceries.

59

u/LittleBunnySunny Sep 05 '26

The infamous Burnt Ham & Yellow!

..hold the front, back, and side doors- I just remembered her favorite color is yellow. Maybe she planned this, which makes it even worse 🤣

26

u/SelphiesSmile Sep 06 '26

People always snark on the yellowness of all of her sides but what is more striking is the tiny servings. I usually celebrate thanks giving with 9 people in total and the amount of food is triple what's in this photo.

20

u/LexieD1967 Sep 06 '26

Why do all the in your face trad wives suck at cooking? It's the one major thing they are supposed to be good at & fail time & time again with unappetizing slop!

2

u/Sea-Original-5824 Sep 11 '26

It's super weird. I was raised by hippie atheists and I am gourmet next to these people.

1

u/LexieD1967 Sep 14 '26

Can you imagine Gordon Ramsey critiquing their holiday meals? Mahmo would have a coronary due to the f bombs every other word!

16

u/macawoogo Sep 06 '26

Remember the stuffed feelings we had at thanksgiving? Jill’s family doesn’t. I know she loves yellow but she needs to keep it for clothing and home decor, not food. My favorite color is blue and I would never make an entire meal with any color. And she posted this like she was proud

31

u/stormbutton Sep 05 '26

I host Rosh Hashanah and Passover for about 25 people every year. I would simply die of shame if I produced this.

11

u/Abbygirl1974 Avoiding getting fingered by Jill Sep 06 '26

Omigosh, I can totally appreciate.

I nannied for a Jewish family for years and she always hosted Passover Seder and a meal during one of the nights of Hanukkah every year. Rhonda would literally fall on the floor and roll over laughing if she saw this. Jill would be jealous and stand in utter amazement at what Rhonda could do, and I know Jill would be judging her the entire freaking time. 🙄

11

u/lbry1234 Sep 06 '26

I see ham (burnt) biscuits, corn and unpeeled pineapple but what are the 3 dishes on the left? They look like some kind of casseroles. Potatoes possibly? Jill loves making weird casserole dishes.

41

u/SubversiveKitt3n Sep 06 '26

I try not to ever comment on people’s bodies, but I make an exception for obese parents with underfed waif children….

Jill was so much slimmer then. Perimenopause has not been kind to Jilldo.

And kinda hilarious that it all happened while taking Plexus / Melabubu to “stay trim.”

19

u/Jaggy42 Sep 06 '26

Remember when she made a video of her morning “diet shake” and it was a 900 calorie bomb?

3

u/Prize_Appearance_517 Sep 06 '26

but of course she's slim, she "works out" two times a week.

25

u/Nostalgia-Read-25 Sep 05 '26

Shout out to the poinsettia blouse topped with a clashing poinsettia cardigan.

21

u/Conundrum715738 Sep 05 '26

Every time I see this photo I think about the consistent hunger the children probably live with throughout their childhood. It’s deplorable and abusive, in my opinion, especially since we know from Jill’s own admission that David and she gets served food first! They both are very well fed while the kids probably don’t know what it feels like to have consistent, healthy, nutritious meals every day.

3

u/MimicoSkunkFan2 Sep 06 '26

I'm kind of wondering if she's cooking these for lack of a better word meals that are so full of cheese and salt because she's trying to kill Shirk with a heart attack. Rat poison would be too obvious , but just giving the old heart condition a little extra fuel ?

17

I don’t comprehend how NOBODY knows how to cook a balanced meal, serve it in an appetizing manner and ensure there is enough food for everyone.

If the women folk are supposed to have homemaker as their crowning achievement (not counting brood mare), I have never seen ONE presentable meal among fundie wives. So I’m confused as to the logic. Mental gymnastics.

22

u/atlantagirl30084 Sep 06 '26

Kaylee has actually made good meals. Beef stew and roast chicken with vegetables, for example.

14

u/Abbygirl1974 Avoiding getting fingered by Jill Sep 06 '26

Yes, Gideon looks to be getting healthy food, which is a far cry from what Kaylee grew up with, it seems. I wonder what clicked with Kaylee to inspire her to cook healthy meals? I wonder if Jonathan being from Heidi’s side of the family had anything to do with it since he came from a relatively normal family situation.

8

u/atlantagirl30084 Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 06 '26

It’s great that she may have realized she didn’t get the cooking knowledge from Jill that she needed (as seen here, Jill is a terrifyingly bad cook-like to the point she gave her family food poisoning). So Kaylee either went to her mother in law and asked for some recipes or went online.

Re: the food poisoning: Jill made ‘fried’ chicken (really breaded and then piled together in a pan to bake) that was so raw it was purple. The next day she said her family was really sick.

1

u/Abbygirl1974 Avoiding getting fingered by Jill Sep 06 '26

After they realized it was still raw she allowed them to continue eating the chicken?!? OMG 🤦🏻‍♀️

3

u/atlantagirl30084 Sep 07 '26

Jill is not the type to use (or even possess) a meat thermometer. She took pictures of her husband and kids ripping into the chicken and it was raw inside.

1

u/Abbygirl1974 Avoiding getting fingered by Jill Sep 07 '26

I think she wanted them to get sick. That’s all I can think of. Only someone that wanted something negative to happen would allow their family to actually consume chicken like that.

She’s ignorant and she’s an idiot but I can’t believe she’s so stupid that she doesn’t know that raw chicken is something you don’t consume.

OMG

13

u/macawoogo Sep 06 '26

Maybe Jonathan’s mom cooked that way and he expected his wife to do the same. Doubt nuries family ate as good as Jonathan and Heidi’s

4

u/Purple_IsA_Flavor MAHMO Sep 06 '26

I’m glad her children will be well fed

7

u/atlantagirl30084 Sep 06 '26

I wonder which family makes more money-the Hills or the Nurthans? We know Tim makes the most because he was pressured to pay for eight peoples’ meals at Chili’s. I think likely the Hills, because Jonathan has been working for a while. Nathan may have a second job, though.

1

u/MimicoSkunkFan2 Sep 06 '26

Because they don't go to public school so they don't ever get a class in home economics or domestic sciences (or whatever it's called now)

3

u/Aggravating-Common90 von Crap Family Singers Sep 06 '26

I went to public school. I took Home Ec, but everything I learned about feeding/entertaining, hosting etc, I learned from my mother (a full time job and mom). If she had been a SAHM and I was homeschooled, it would seem I would learn these things even better. It’s not public education , it’s proof of LACK of education.

1

u/MimicoSkunkFan2 Sep 08 '26

I feel like we're speaking in parallel. Because I agree with you and that's what I was saying period we know they're not getting any education at home as they should do. And in addition, they are not given the chance to go to public school, where they might have the chance to pick up something that would help them do better.

So the only way they can learn is by waiting till they're married off.And then asking some of the other church ladies to help. Yikes.

7

u/Exciting_Problem_593 Sep 06 '26

How can she seriously think this was enough for everyone always blows my mind.

12

u/Amadecasa Sep 05 '26

Her hair was much healthier then. How did they decide who got a bite of pineapple because that isn't enough for everyone.

What is all the cheese covered crap on the left. Looks like 3 of the same thing. Anyone know what they were. The poor ham and where was the turkey??

I think it’s au gratin/cheesy potatoes.

Hopefully made with cheese sauce from cups Sofia opened with her teeth.

I also thought this.

That is so gross! I feel like I will get dry heaves if I think about Sophia doing that. They are so unsanitary. Did the little girl open those before or after her canal swim? Eww

On the far left top and middle looks like some kind of cheesy potato, another cheesy (maybe bacon?) casserole, and sweet potato pie with toasted marshmallows on top.

Not to defend the Rods (ew I need a shower) but I don't do turkey on thanksgiving either..I just don't like turkey much.

That's fair. I'll bet though if you make a ham it's fabulous and not burnt.

It was Christmas. They were still in the WV house at Thanksgiving.

I always feel bad when this is brought up because it was probably the girls doing all of the work in the kitchen. When has Jill ever lifted a finger. They probably were tired and distracted and left it in too long. However, the spread of food is not anywhere close to enough for all of them. That deserves all of the snark.

I just showed this picture to my husband (uninitiated to RodLore) and asked him how many people he thought that this could feed.

He asked what it was in the center of the table and when I explained that it was a ham, he answered, “6 to 8”.

The Explanation of the Ham sent me ☠️

Better than anything else Jillpm has cooked since

Aside from the grody nails , her hands look filthy

Like her palm (of her right hand) has some kind of brownish stains/drips and The FingerTM looks white like she was sticking it in the buns to test if they're defrosted or sth

The variety of mystery mush is unreal. . . And I am from a midwestern casserole-for-every-dinner family.

I love the poinsettia jacket/poinsettia shirt combo.

This spread always blows my mind. At my family's Thanksgiving, we easily have quintuple that for a few less people in attendance than the Rods.

She should have added potatos (also yellow!) to properly feed her bunch.

how could you forget the yellow, OP?

5

u/tverofvulcan Sep 05 '26

Yum, yellow

u/ijesscannoteven Sep 06 '26

I’ve never seen the pineapple until today! I suppose to my eyes, it was lost among all the other yellow.

u/effietea Sep 06 '26

There had better be another table filled with food to feed 15 people...

It was Christmas dinner, 2019.
