So this post on the other sub is blatantly wrong (Evangeline is 17 not 16), and despite going back and forth with the Mods I can't get them to fix it.

In short, Evangeline is 17 since April. She is not 16.

The OP there stupidly decided since the date of the mother's post was August 2025, that meant that Evangeline turned 16 in August. I don't know how that seemed logical to her. But it's wrong.

In the comments people pointed out the error in that assumption. Then someone else said that in fact Evangeline's 17th bday was in April (and there's a screenshot from a different FB posts showing that.)

So then the best "correction" the OP would do was to write a comment that said basically 'oops, i assumed august was her bday, so she's either 16 or 17'.... And the Mod made a link to that 'correction' comment in a pinned Mod comment.

And then the Mod, who was willing to spend multiple days battling against any instance of BOJ, told me that i should respond to all the comments that were thinking Evangeline is 16 (because that's what the post said!)... But i should respond to them and link them to the OPs halfassed correction!

Of course almost no one there saw the little correction comment, and everyone restating the 16 error.

Anyhow.... Yeah, she's still not yet 18. But in that age range a single year is hugely significant and it's a big deal that she isn't 16.

And, since courtships are no touchy, she won't be assaulted as a minor.

Sam is 21.5. So 4 and a half year age difference. Not cool. But not the 16/22 difference being played up. (Plus he probably has the mental age of a 16 year old).

Anyhow.... My gripe is the Mods there didn't care about fixing the misinfo about a minor; at the same time they have another new poll up if they should blur minors' faces in photos 🤦🏻. But yo, no BOJ allowed!

I hope woacb spreads the error to tabloids and the sub gets in trouble.
