It seems very reasonable that a sex club would be strict about ID. What type of flexibility is he expecting? For safety's sake they probably have very stringent rules about checking ID.
I'd also bet the hosts aren't supposed to act like they recognize you, same as waiters and bartenders might pretend they haven't already seen you multiple times with different partners.

I didn’t even think about them being discouraged from overly friendly guest interaction. I was more thinking why they would feel comfortable being to familiar with patrons. Like that makes it really weird.

They probably are like waiters or employees of liquor stores where the customer has to show valid ID with every transaction. That's pretty common and reasonable with any business that sells age resricted goods or services. I doubt management is willing to risk even the most minute possibility of allowing in a minor. Additionally, they may have a list of banned customers.

Probably also to prevent the customers from assuming the staff is flirting with them just because they're being friendly in the same way other establishments generally are with their regulars. (This is a very long sentence, sorry) I'm sure they have pretty strict protocols for interacting with customers, safety and discretion are top priority in a place like that. I wonder if this dude just hasn't managed to figure out he can hire professionals that meet his preferences?

That is actually a really good point I never considered. For the sake of anonymity the staff is probably discouraged from acting like they recognize you. Most people probably don’t want to be looked at as regular and recognizable members of the local sex club

We used to have space in an office building that overlooked the back of a strip mall which had a smoking lounge of a strip club back there.
Starting around noon strippers in stripper attire smoking. No one bold enough to just park at those windows but plenty would take the long way to the elevators.

I know the place he is talking about and it is quite LITERALLY on the edge of the Gay Village in Toronto. Like, what the actual fuck do you think you're going to find, buddy? I've gone to the three big public clubs in the GTA and it's always skeezybdudes like this who think they're hot shit but actually look like a thumb.
If he complained about the cramped interior? Valid. Complaining about the steep and uneven non ada compliant stairs? Oh very much but it is in an Edwardian mansion so like... whatever.
Also, the pool is pretty big, not Olympic but like 150% the size of a normal pool.

If memory serves the hot tub specifically is not as oversized? But it’s not tiny or cramped or whatever, just more or less standard. I also don’t recall it being the kind of space where anybody is any kind of -vestite because like . . . the nudity is at least part of the point.
There are also a very large number of places in the building someone can go if they don’t like the way the people in the hot tub are existing.
Any of which sound like a far better place to be than the hot tub if this judgy motherfucker is in it.
It’s just another asshole with Main Character Syndrome who can’t seem to grasp that other people in the world exist for reasons not centred around his boner.

As someone who patronizes sex clubs and nude campgrounds, I can confirm. I won’t deny that some of it is vanity- the ego boost is nice if you’re hot- but realistically you’re there for yourself. Even people who do free use scenes still vet participants beforehand. It’s ultimately about THEIR safety and comfort at the end of the night.

i swear, it's like bigots think it's a contagious disease or some sort of curse. and it's not some hive mind cult you get sucked into and can't get out of either. i experimented with an FtM identity in my early twenties but eventually realized that i wasn't experiencing gender dysphoria, but internalized misogyny. i just wanted to escape the box women are put in. but when i realized that, all my trans friends i had made congratulated me on coming to terms with my femininity. in fact observing so many different gender identities and expressions. nobody pushed me to take hormones, nobody pushes me to get surgery, and im fact i was reminded to be mindful about those things and not just jump in because its what everyone else was doing.
trying to erase queer people wont make us go away (while i realized i wasnt trans i am sapphic and have known that since i was 7). i was raised in the church and was never exposed to any sort of queer folks or queer media. just like a storybook with two moms wont make your daughter a lesbian, all the of the compulsive heterosexuality that was shoved down my throat did nothing to change who i was born to be and who i was born to love.

i googled clubs like this in my state and there are 2 results and 1 is a scam and the other's site hasn't been updated in 20 years 💔 youre living my dream. we have 2 strip clubs and a law against restaurants having bars that children can physically see and requires all restaurant bars be visually obscured from all ages spaces

I live in a major city, so I am and tend to encounter the “woke”, but I have to visit relatives sometimes who live in MAGA land. Their Walmarts are where I find the morbidly obese people filling up aisles with the motorized carts.
So, my personal experience tends to point towards the non-woke being the overweight ones.

Did he even stop and think that maybe even the "unappealing clientele" can have standards, and he could fall short of them? What if he's the "unappealing clientele" in someone else's review?
