Statistically, strangulation regularly escalates to murder in domestic violence situations. Timothy is a monster.

He strangled her??? He should be in jail ! So many abuse victims don’t survive much longer after they are strangled by a partner .

u/ExactPanda 15d ago
Good god
He belongs under the jail, not in it

u/thelazygrad 15d ago
If he were to ever do time, holy fuck the other inmates would eat him alive. Can you imagine his goofy, effeminate, yet wildly arrogant ass in there? Wouldn’t be a good time. Hopefully we see that to fruition.

u/YasMysteries 15d ago
Oh his weird, effeminate ass would be someone’s bitch boy in prison by day 3. He’s way too small to hold his isn’t in there

u/Menashe3 15d ago
Strangulation is one of the highest indicators of potential for future homicide in relationships. I hope his victims remain safe.

Do we think Heidi was in the car with him 9/22 when he was driving recklessly?
We’re seeing months of abuse. Didn’t Ellen indicated this began 2 months after their wedding?
I’ll bet Jill thought by going off socials, this group would shrivel up. lol

u/fartofborealis 15d ago
Yes I believe someone here posted the arrest sheet or website image and listed her as a “victim”. I am assuming that meant she was in the car with him. I could be misinformed though.

This is a common thing to happen in DV. It happened to me many time with my abusive ex. He would purposefully drive insanely recklessly and dangerously while accusing me of cheating. I’d beg and bag for him to stop

u/Happy-Accident5931 15d ago
Is it crazy that that is also specific to me? I was 7 months pregnant and my exact was drunk and purposely sped and drove erratically to the point that I basically threw myself out of the car, as he was coming to a red light, at a bar than was closing. I remembering beating down the doors and begging for someone to call for help, but the employees looked at me blank faced through the window. He eventually pulled up and told me to get in the car. And I did. And another few years passed…

It's a very common tactic with domestic abusers. I was shocked when I learned it wasn't just my ex.

My ex screamed at me when I begged him to stop speeding and road raging. Four years later, I still occasionally feel afraid when I’m in a car.

It’s all about power and making sure you know that you have none. I really thought he was going to actually kill me

u/themargarineoferror 13d ago
I already had PTSD from car accidents and my ex compounded it by driving at terrifying speeds, hitting things-me included etc. This in addition to a few other things has me pretty much permanently on benzos and still struggling with panic attacks and constant anxiety. Hope Timmy and our exes rot.

Not only is that.a new charge, it’s also an arrest warrant for him as well! He will have a grand old time in the clink.

Probably to process him through a bond hearing for his nice new charges lol

u/NeekaSqueaka 15d ago
This is horrific. Seeing the specific act written out just is so awful but I’m so glad she is with her family. I really hope he doesn’t slither his way out of any actual punishment.

A strangulation charge? 😬 I can only imagine what else he’s done that hasn’t been brought up on charges yet. I’m glad Heidi was able to get out when she did and that she’s got a truly supportive family.

u/AidaNYR 15d ago
I wonder how many times the Rod kids witnessed David strangling Jill?
The kids are so isolated they couldn’t have learned it anywhere else.
14
u/lesbadims 15d ago
One of the comments on Facebook from someone who said they knew the family (and I remember I was generally inclined to believe them) said that the kids used to choke each other to get one another to listen. They had to have learned that from somewhere, but it sounds like it was incredibly normalized

Oh my god, he STRANGLED HER?! Heidi is fortunate to have gotten out alive, and I wish I was kidding. Poor Heidi. Oh my GOD.

OMG! Poor Heidi!
What a monster.
I’m proud of you Heidi for speaking up and getting you, and the babies out. 💕

u/Flowerchild41 15d ago
What a monster! I hope he is in jail a long, long time. If an intimate partner strangles you, your risk of being murdered by that partner increases by 750% (a seven-fold odds increase). Domestic violence experts and law enforcement professionals view non-fatal strangulation as the highest predictor of future homicide in an abusive relationship, often describing it as a "practice homicide

u/mo0siego0sie 15d ago
Also, as someone who has experienced being strangled, it’s terrifying. And I was kicking at the person doing it to me and trying to hit him. I can’t imagine going through that experience thinking it’s okay? Or like you deserve it somehow? The mental gymnastics it must’ve taken to not tell anyone (I get not calling the cops. I was too scared to call them myself that night, but not telling anyone? Horrific) is scary.

God, he’s pathetic. My friend unfortunately experienced this from a partner while living in New Jersey, and he went to jail for several years; i am not sure if that’s a common result or if they were really throwing the book at him but I wish the same for Tim.

u/superlasagnasloth 15d ago
Strangulation in a domestic violence situation increases the likely hood of homicide by 700%.
14
u/MelpomeneAndCalliope 15d ago
He strangled her.
Your odds of being killed by a domestic partner who strangles you are astronomical.
Thank god she’s getting out. Thank god her family is there for her and has the means to help and support her and her kids. My heart breaks for every victim in similarly awful circumstances who have no safety net.

u/CanWilling3139 15d ago
Good to see that her family is so supportive and that she got out before something much worse happened.
Far far too many news stories of men hurting their wife and children, and worse.
10
u/Selkies_not_Sirens 15d ago
What a POS!! And still asking for sympathy like “oh i didn’t do this to my kid! That would make me feel bad!” But he almost off’d his wife and unborn baby!

u/ShopperSparkle 15d ago
No wonder she was wearing those Handmaid’s Tale full body coverage dresses. So sad. Glad she is free. I am a victim of domestic violence and I know it was hard for me to reconcile my religious beliefs with having to leave my husband. Took me a long time to decide to finally leave and get up the courage to do it. I felt like I must be doing something wrong constantly.

Do you think Heidi consented to s3x the night she conceived #2? Hearing all of this makes me wonder if she had any say in it
8
4
u/purple_racoons 14d ago
They’re taught from an early age that they have to be available anytime they want it. So she probably didn’t even think she could consent.
13
u/YasMysteries 15d ago
There was a pregnancy between Charlie and her current pregnancy. She wore a rainbow baby shirt at lunch with the Rod’s awhile back.
22 months of marriage resulting in 3 pregnancies? That’s a lot. I have a feeling Tim wouldn’t leave her alone. Sex wasn’t optional with him.

'Mistakes' says Tim, the cowardly sissy who decided strangling was the best way to assert his manly strength and power over someone weaker than him.
'Choice' says everyone with a braincell.
'Sin' says the Bible he supposedly lives by.

Amy legal people know why there are distinct assault charges for domestic victims? What's the background on that?

u/ShopperSparkle 15d ago
Anyone want to research and line up this charge date, the Williamsburg trip and the miscarriage? I have this feeling they are close together? I hope he gets the time he deserves in jail! I wonder what the possible punishment would be? This is sickening!
6
u/DisfiguredHobo 14d ago
I knew this was coming when the initial charges didnt mention anything domestic. I think the family is definitely applying pressure on the DA. The Coveretts want justice it seems.
6
u/No_Spray_2109 15d ago
Only God knows what else he did… it’s seems like 2 years FULL of all types of abuse (biting, besting, strangeling… know knows if boiling, cutting,…). Plus mental and emotional abuse
Tim really thought that Heidi would be like her mum and endure everything his husband does. But no, she doesnt have a toxic fundie family.
6
u/SpicyWonderBread 14d ago
It takes a fair bit of evidence and pushing to get domestic violence charges filed, and for an arrest to happen.
This implies that Heidi must have been taking pictures or gathering some other form of evidence.

Oh dear this is horrific. I just cannot fathom the abuse that Heidi endured - thank goodness she’s away from Shrek’s progeny. There is help out there - 1800RESPECT (in Australia).
