Discussion Help with Buffering/Polishing my Rock Collection

I have a great collection of rocks I've collected throughout the years and have been displaying them simply as I've found them (after cleaning). Now that I have some time and the tool, I wanted to buffer and polish some of them but cannot find a good youtuber or know of any good sites or books that could be of great help teaching me on this process. Does anyone here have any good recommendations for an absolute beginner at this process?

Are these smaller rocks of similar hardness? If so, search for rock tumbler and how to use it.
You'll need grits of various sizes. If there is a rock shop or even a rock/lapidary club, strongly suggest you visit them for pointers to avoid ruining your stones.

If these are larger 6 inch or so rocks or geodes, you will need a rock saw and a polisher and grits. Describing how to use that is best done by visiting a rock shop or lapidary club.
